It’s been cup matches for the Forest of Arden Winter League this week. First round one of the Presidents Cup in which the biggest winners were Old Bill and Bull who came up with an 8-1 victory over Greville Arms. Olton RBL were not far behind with their 7-2 success against Greville Arrows. Other teams to win through to the next round were, Victoria Flights, Ivy Leaf, Harvester, Riley’s Red Arrows and Highwood Kennys Boys.
In round one of the League Cup Sheldon Arrows and Olton RBL both chalked up a massive 12-3 win against respective opponents Greville Arms and Victoria Flights, while both Riley’s Red Arrows and Old Bill and Bull had 11-4 wins and there were 10-5 victories for Riley’s Flights and Greville Arrows.
In the Divisional Cup, division one winners were Greville Arrows, Riley’s Red Arrows and Victoria Flights. Going through from division two were Riley’s Flights, Sheldon Flights and Highwod Kennys Boys.

As the season fast draws to an end in the Sheldon and District Winter League there were some interesting results in division two. Leaders Yardley Arms had a close 5-4 win away to Ridgemere Social, who have dropped from third to fifth in the table. Second placed Custard House travelled to take on Glebe Community Association went down 5-4 and as a result have dropped to joint third with Forget-Me-Not who won their home tie with Small Heath Gardeners Flights 6-3.Taking over the number two spot is Yardley and District Darts Team after their 6-3 win at Shannons. The outcome is that now just two points separate Yardley and fifth placed Ridgemere and Ridgemere have a game in hand, should be an exciting run in for the runners up spot.

In the Four Oaks and District League, Sportsmans Rest finished their programme in division one strongly with a 6-3 win over Cross Keys PPA, J.Collins and A.Stainfield both recording 180’s in the match. Sutton Sports M.Wild was another player to find the three treble twenties however, the division one champions stumbled at the final hurdle going down 5-4 at Old Oscott Arrows.
The Fox and Dogs cemented their position as runners up in division two with a confident 8-1 win against Aston Social and in division three the top two teams, winners Drakes Drum and runners up Royal Oak each had a 6-3 win in turn against Brookvale and Bromford Social.

Ian McFarlane upheld his four points lead at the top of the thisisdarts.co.uk Individual League with a 2-1 win over Tom Fitzpatrick followed by a 3-0 success against Colin Mace. Ross Macken who had a 3-0 wins against Rick Barberan and George Green, plus 2-1 wins over Tom Fitzpatrick, Sean O’Donnell and Mark O’Donnell and despite losing 2-1 to both Jason Evans and Adam Thomas has taken over the second place on 48 points, four adrift of McFarlane.
Congratulations to Terry Blakemore who chalked up his first win of the campaign, which was also his only win in fifteen outings, a tremendous 3-0 victory over Blane Homer.
There were three maximums in week six game supplied by Mark O’Donnell, Colin Mace and Ross Macken, plus there were three 160 breaks, two from Rick Barberan and one for Steve Cousins.

The Camp Hill and District League are on the lookout for new as well as existing teams to join them in the forthcoming season. There will be a meeting at the Clements Arms, Upper Trinity Street, Digbeth tonight Wednesday 28th April) anyone interested in entering a team into the league should attend this meeting which will get underway at 8.00pm.
