This coming weekend Warwickshire go in search of more survival points in a bid to retain their premier division status in the Rileys BDO Inter Counties Championships. In this the penultimate fixture of their nine game season Warwickshire will play hosts to fourth in the table Essex at the Bishopsgate Club, Coventry and will be hoping to increase the four points gap between them and next to bottom of the table Hampshire.

In division two West Midlands travel away to take on Hertfordshire and will be all out to strengthen their number two placing in the promotional table behind leaders London in an effort to return to division one. On the agenda for the Four Oaks and District League were cup semi finals. First the Coronation Shield in which second division champions, the Fox gained a very close 8-7 victory over division one champions Sutton Sports. The second of the semi’s saw Old Oscott Arrows beat local rivals Oscott Social. Arrows raced to a 7-2 lead but had to wait until the last game to clinch a 9-6 win.
In the Norman Day Cup Deer’s Leap beat Brookvale 9-6, while in the second semi final Drakes Drum, despite being a player short went on to win 10-5 against White Lion.

Two straight 3-0 wins over Kristian Green and George Green has given Ian McFarlane a total of 39 points and taken to pole position in the thisisdarts.co.uk Individual League. McFarlane is now four points clear of second placed Steve Cousins who has played three more games and five ahead of Robbie Earle who is third in the table and played ten games, two more than McFarlane.
Only one maximum hit this week and that was provided by Luis Barberan in his 3-0 win against Rick Barberan.

Rileys Red Arrows made it thirteen wins on the bounce this week in division one of the Forest of Arden Winter League when they won 8-1 at Sheldon Arrows. Old Bill and Bull, who won 7-2 at Greville Arrows are second with a game in hand on the leaders, but they are a massive ten points adrift. Third in the table Olton RBL are also on 16 points and have two games in hand on Riley’s.
In the second division a close 5-4 win over Sheldon Flights sees Harvester hang on to the number one spot, however, Riley’s Flights, who beat Saddlers Arms 7-2 are only two points behind Harvester and have played one game fewer.

It’s as you were in all of the three divisions of the Sheldon and District Winter League as in each division the top two teams all won. In the premier leaders Saltley Amateur Gardeners won 7-2 at home to Red Lion, with second placed Mackadown Social winning 6-3 at Crown ‘A’. Division one leaders Old Bill and Bull had an 8-1 home win against Holy Souls, while their nearest rivals Kingshurst Labour Club won 6-3 away to Willclare Sports and Social.
In division two Yardley Arms had a close 5-4 verdict at Glebe Community Association to maintain their four points lead over Custard House who won 5-4 away to Maggies.
