This coming weekend West Midlands will be hoping to bounce back from their defeat at London in division two of the Riley’s BDO Inter Counties Championships when they take on Sussex at their home venue Gilberts Bar, Willenhall.

The Forest of Arden Winter League have been busy with quarter finals of their League Cup in which there were wins for Olton RBL, Riley’s Red Arrows, Greville Arrows and Old Bill and Bull who in turn defeated Sheldon Arrows, Sheldon Flights, Riley’s Flights and Highwood Kennys Boys.
The league is staging a 5-1 knockout at their headquarters Riley’s Bar, Solihull this coming Sunday. The competition will be the best of five legs of 501 and entry will cost £5 per player. All entry fees will be paid out on the day.
In addition to the cash prize the eventual winner will receive two VIP tickets to the PDC Premier League evening to be staged at the NIA on Thursday 25th March, plus a once in a lifetime opportunity to play against one of the eight players on the stage.

In division one of the Four Oaks and District League Anvil Nomads turned around a 4-1 deficit into a winning 5-4 margin at home to White Lion, T.Tyrie finishing the final game with a tremendous 156 checkout. Old Oscott Arrows had a surprising 7-2 win in their home tie against high riding Boldmere Sports.
There was a nail biter in division two between Pint Pot Flights and Oscott Social. With the score at 4-4 Oscott won the last leg of the final game to clinch a very close 5-4 verdict.
In division three Drakes Drum made it eleven wins in as many games when they won 7-2 at Boldmere Flights. However, it was not such good news for Safe Harbour as they went down 6-3 at White Lion Barrels and have now dropped to third place behind Royal Oak who won 6-3 against Sutton Town F.C.

It’s as you were at the top of the premier division in the Sheldon and District Winter League with all of the top four teams recording wins. Saltley Amateur Gardeners remain in pole position with a six points advantage over the rest of the field.
In division one it’s a much closer affair with Kingshurst Labour Club just two points ahead of Old Bill and Bull, both teams winning this week, Kingshurst 5-4 away to Sheldon Social and Old Bill and Bull 6-3 at home to Willclare Sports and Social.
Division three is the tightest of the three divisions with the top two teams Forget-Me-Not and Yardley Arms locked together on 22 points, Yardley slightly behind on average.

Congratulations to the Tribe who have won the Gulp League title. Tribe rounded off their season with a 5-2 win over St Andrews giving them a total of 40 points, Lions were runners up on 36 points.

Upset for The Mitre in the Small Heath League this week as they went down 6-3 at home to At Andrews Tavern, their first defeat of the season in nine fixtures. Mitre have dropped from pole position to second behind Beaufort Social Club, who won 6-3 at Wagon and Horse. However, Beaufort have played two games more than Mitre and are just two points ahead of them.
