Two teams, Olton RBL and Mackadown Social, both chasing the premier division title in the Sheldon and District Winter League, played each other in the latest round of fixtures. The result was a massive 8-1 victory for the home side Olton, who have now gone two points ahead of Mackadown and Crown ‘A’ on 22 points however, they still have a huge task if they want to win the division as leaders Saltley Amateur Gardeners are eight points ahead of them following their 7-2 win at Iron Horse.
In division one Kingshurst Labour Club won 8-1 at home against Holy Souls to maintain their two points lead over Old Bill and Bull, who won 7-2 at Shirley RBL Misfits. Third in the table Highwood are a further two points adrift, they won their home tie with Sheldon Heath Social 5-4.
Forget-Me-not have been knocked off their number one perch in division two after a somewhat surprising 6-3 defeat at Glebe Community Association and replacing them in pole position is Yardley Arms who beat George V 5-4.

The Four Oaks and District League staged their Central Container Services sponsored Richard Winslow Pairs competition this week. The event was played at two venues, Aston Social and Red Lion.
At Aston Social the first semi final saw Boldmere Sports duo P.Newman and A.Jarvie win 2-1 against R.Hasluck and A.Mountford (Drakes Drum). The other semi was an all Sutton Sports affair with M.Wild and R.Hawker beating their team mates B.Linnecor and J.Kavanagh 2-0.The final went to the deciding third leg and was won by P.Newman and A.Jarvie. A total of six maximums were recorded at the venue with M.Wild and J.Kavanagh hitting two each and K.Brush (Safe Harbour) and J.Dunn (Sportsmans Rest) one each.
At the Red Lion T.Frost and M.WIlletts (The Fox) won the first semi against N.Robbins and M.Hawkins(Fox and Dogs), while by the same margin J.Leydon and M.Westmorland (Oscott Social) defeated M.Gaughan and T.Tyrie (Anvil Nomads). The final saw T.Frost and M.Willetts gain a straight two legs win.

The Forest of Arden League are staging a 5-1 knockout at their headquarters Riley’s Bar, Solihull on Sunday 7th March. The competition will be the best of five legs of 501 and entry will cost £5 per player. All entry fees will be paid out on the day.
In addition to the cash prize the eventual winner will receive two VIP tickets to the PDC Premier League evening to be staged at the NIA on Thursday 25th March, plus a once in a lifetime opportunity to play against one of the eight players on the stage.

The Small Heath League played off their Doubles Knockout at the Emerald Club and it was their representatives Neil Parsonage and Raymond Fisher who took the title. Runners up were Tom Fitzpatrick and Ross Macken (Beaufort Social Club) with Michael Looby and John Young (Devils), plus Jason Evans and Mark O’Donnell (Beaufort Social Club) going out in the semi finals.

The division one title in the Pip Club League went to the wire with the honours not decided until the final day of the fixtures. In the last games of the season the two top teams were playing each other, second placed Red Lion ’A’ hosting leaders Glascote Club. The result was a 9-7 victory for Glascote and they clinched the title with a total of 31 points, three more than Red Lion ’A’.
The division two title was also touch and go with both North Warwick Cricket Club (leaders) and Kettlebrook Club (second) in with a shout as only one point separated them. North Warwick won 11-5 at Gate Inn, and although Kettlebrook beat Red Lion ’B’ 13.3 it was the Cricket Club that took the honours.

No change at the top of the Gulp League as the top four teams all won 5-2. Leaders Tribe beat Shaftmoor to remain top and hang on to their four points lead over Lions who beat Pickwick. Third placed Trotters won at home to Rebbels and fourth in the table St Andrews won against Who’s.
