Second in the table Red Lion suffered a setback to their title aspirations in the premier division of the Sheldon and District Winter League this week when they lost 5-4 at home to third placed Mackadown Social. Red Lion, Mackadown and Olton RBL are all now on ten points, four behind leaders Saltley Amateur Gardeners, but Mackadown have played one game fewer than their rivals and should go clear in second place when play their game in hand. Saltley were in top form as they won 8-1 at RAFA. At the other end of the table Scanlons won their first game in seven as they beat Sheldon Dukes 5-4, however they remain rooted to the foot of the table on average.
In division one an 8-1 home victory over Shirley RBL Misfits maintains Highwood’s 100% win record and keeps them two points ahead of Kingshurst Labour Club who have taken over the number two spot after ousting Old Bill and Bull with a 6-3 home win.
Forget-Me-Not had an emphatic 8-1 win at Redhill Tavern Flights to stay top of division two, while Custard House lost their home game with Small Heath Gardeners Flights 5-4 and have dropped from second to fourth, the Gardeners replacing them in the number two position.

Sutton Sports had a surprising 7-2 win against Boldmere Sports in division one of the Four Oaks and District League to replace them in pole position and are now the only team with a 100% win record in the division. Cross Keys PPA came from 4-2 down at Anvil Nomads to win 5-4 and chalk up their first points of the season.
All top three teams won in division two The Fox heading the table with the Fox and Dogs, who won 6-3 against Pint Pot two points behind them. Deer’s Leap Stags moved off the bottom as they recorded their first win of the campaign, a 5-4 success at Pint Pot Flights.
With division three leaders White Lion Barrels having a bye this week, Drakes Drum took full advantage, leap frogging them with a 7-2 win at Sutton Town F.C.
This week there were 180 celebrations for I.Lloyd (Boldmere Sports), S.Andrews (Red Lion Flights), P.Hughes (Deer’s Leap) and P.Donovan (Safe Harbour).

There were big wins for the top three teams in the Harborne 401 League this week as leaders Hillyfields ‘B’ beat Avenue Social 9-0 and with the same result second placed Smethwick Labour Club won at Quinborne ’B’. Third in the table Bell Inn ’B’ were close behind as they won 8-1 at Old Crown.
Winners through to round two of the League Cup are, Smethwick Labour Club, Quinborne ’A’, Quinborne ;B’, Old Crown and Thimbermill.
In the Skip Cup first round winners were, Quinborne ’A’, Thimbermill, Smethwick Labour Club, Bartley Green F.C, Old Crown and Hillyfields ’B’.

In the Pip Club League winners in the second round of the division one Sports Bar Knockout Competition were, Sports Bar, Belgrave Club, Red Lion ’A’ and Three Horse Shoes.
There was just one league fixture in division two which saw Polesworth Darts Club and Two Gates Club finish all square at 8-8.

Big wins for the top three teams in the Gulp League as leaders Tribe and second placed Trotters both won 6-1 against respective opponents Beasts and Shaftmoor. Third in the table Lions beat fourth placed St Andrews 5-2.
