Played two, lost two that’s the grim reading for Warwickshire as they begin life once more in the premier division of the BDO Inter Counties Championships. However, there are still seven games to be played and plenty of time to get back to winning ways and secure their position in the toughest league in the world.
The latest fixture saw Warwickshire travel away to take on Gwent, a game that was possibly there for the taking. Unfortunately it was not to be as the men’s ’A’ with a 7-5 win were the only winners of the weekend. The ’B’ side lost by the same margin and in the ladies games the ’A’ suffered their second defeat, this time by 4-2 and the ’B’ finished all square at 3-3.
Match award winners were Prakash Jiwa (’A’ 28.48), Mark McGeeney (’B’ 29.35), Trina Gulliver (’A’ 24.24) and Caroline Pike (’B’ 17.82).
