Can nothing separate Bob Nixon and Tony Randell at the top of the Carlsberg Olton Double Top League, both have now completed 30 fixtures and each one has 77 points and are dead level on average. In their week fifteen games Nixon had 2-1 wins over third in the table Lee Harris and his joint leader Tony Randell but went down by the same margin to fourth placed Andy Hutchings. Meanwhile Randell also chalked up two 2-1 wins in his games against Lee Harris and Andy Hutchings. Harris is now five points behind the leading duo and Hutchings is a further two points adrift.

In the premier division of the Sheldon and District Winter League Saltley Amateur Gardeners, Olton RBL and Red Lion are the only unbeaten teams. Saltley had a 6-3 home win over Pavilions and are top on average with Olton second after their 6-3 win at Stechford Social. Red Lion had a close 5-4 home success against Scanlons.
In division one Highwood lead the field on four points following their 6-3 win at Kingshurst Labour Club. However, Yardley Ex Flights, Willclare Sports and Social and Yardley Ex Colts have all played and won just one game.
Glebe Farm Community Association and Small Heath Gardeners Flights are level on points and average in division two and lead the way with Custard House just behind them on average.

It’s as you were at the top of the Harborne and District 401 League after the two top teams both chalked up 9-0 whitewashes. Leaders Hillyfields ‘B‘ (by just one leg of average) beat Old Crown while second in the table Smethwick Labour Club won at Avenue Social. The seasons early pacesetters Thimbermill suffered their first defeat as they surprisingly went down 5-4 at home to Hillyfields ’A’.
Bell Inn ’A’ lost their home tie with local rivals Bell Inn ’B’ 7-2, W.Hadley recorded a maximum for the ’A’ side.

The Small Heath League got their new season underway and biggest winners in the curtain raiser were Potcheen Still, who with no fewer than 26 scores of 100 or more beat Wagon and Horses 7-2. Mitre was close behind with a 6-3 home win over Emerald Club.

The Gulp League had the first round of the L.R.Wyatt Cup on their fixture card and saw wins for Clements, St Andrews, Tribe and Roost, who in turn defeated Who’s, Shaftsmoor, Pickwick and Rebbels.

Three Horse Shoes slipped down a place to third in division one of the Pip Club League after suffering their first defeat in eight games, a 13-3 loss at Red Lion ’A’, who have replaced them in the number two spot. Leaders Glascote Club marched on with an 11-5 win at Winning Post giving them a total of 13 points just one more than Red Lion ’A’.
In the second division North Warwick Cricket Club increased their lead in pole position, but only on average as they beat Cuckoo’s Rest 14-2 and their nearest rivals, Gate Inn (Amington) won 10-6 at home to Polesworth Darts Club.
