There have been a few shocks for the various divisional leaders in the Sheldon and District Summer League this week. In group two Shirley RBL have gone down to second place following a 5-3 home defeat at the hand s of their nearest rivals Iron Horse, who have taken over the number one spot. A similar situation in group three where RAFA suffered their first defeat in eight games, losing convincingly by 7-1 at Redhill Tavern who have replaced them at the top of the table. RAFA have dropped to third place with Highwood ’A’ moving up to second place after their 6-2 home win over Lea Hall Sports and Social.
Group five leaders Highwood ’B’ travelled to take on next to bottom of the table Yardley Ex Flights and finished on the wrong side of a 6-2 result, their first defeat of the campaign, however they do still have a four points cushion over second placed Banbury Warriors who finished all square at 4-4 with Willclare Sports and Social. The top two teams in group six played each other, leaders Yardley Arms playing away to Custard House. The hosts got the 6-2 verdict and are now level on points with Yardley and only trail on average.
There was a bottom of the table clash in group four, bottom team Sheldon Social recording their first win in nine games, a 6-2 success over Shard End Social. Both teams now have 4 points and are level on average.

3-0 wins against Ralph Nunn and John Sidwell has seen Tony Randell extend his lead at the top of the Carlsberg Olton Double Top League to three points. Bob Nixon is the player nearest to Randell and he after beating Tom Kelly 3-0 could only manage a 2-1 victory over Chris John.
Lee Harris has moved up the table to third place with 2-1 wins over Mark Wall and Wayne Matthews but remains seven points behind Randell.
There were 180’s for five players this week, Bob Nixon, John Sidwell, Chris Stokes (2), Tony Randell and Tom Kelly.

Congratulations go to Midland Red who with 40 points have won the Harborne and District Winter League title. However, it was so close there was probably a recount as runners up Bear Tavern also finished on 40 points and trailed the Reds by just one leg of average, it just does not get any closer than that!!!
The Shadow League title went to Old Crown with 16 points, six more than New Inns in second place.

The Harborne and District Summer League has got underway and both Thimbermill and Smethwick Labour Club got off to the best start possible. Both teams handed out 9-0 whitewashes in turn to Quinborne ’B’ and Old Crown. Three players also got off to a good start with maximums in their opening games, J.Hykin (Quinborne ’A’), A.Flanagan (Hillyfields ’A’) and R.Kinsella (Smethwick Labour Club).

An impressive 12-4 away win against the Queens Head maintains Glascote Club’s pole position in division one of the Pip Club League, but Three Horse Shoes have kept the pressure on the leaders with their 11-5 home win against Belgrave Club to leave them just one point behind Glascote.
In division two with Kettlebrook’s fixture with Birch Coppice cancelled North Warwick Cricket Club have taken over the top spot with an 11-5 win at Red Lion ’B’. The cricket club now have 8 points, two more than Kettlebrook but have played two games more.

Only three games were played in the Gulp League this week and a 5-2 home win over the Beasts has seen Trotters join leaders Tribe on 18 points, bu having played one game more. In the other games played St Andrews beat Devils 5-2 and Lions just got the 4-3 edge on Pickwick.
