On the fixture card for the Sheldon and District Summer League has been the second round of their Mrs F. Richman Trophy.
Biggest win of the round was 5-2 which was achieved by three teams, Bromford Bridge Members Club Exiles, Sheldon Social and Shirley RBL, who in turn defeated Stechford Social, Shirley RBL Misfits and Iron Horse. The remaining games all finished with close 4-3 verdicts and going through to the next round are, Shard End Social, Golden Acres, Mackadown Social, Highwood ’A’ and Vaughans.
Scores of 180 were recorded by D.Wright (Yardley Ex Flights), M.Heaven (Mackadown Social), B.Salter (Stechford Social), P.Cook (Sheldon Social) and M.O’Sullivan (Vaughans).
Two late results from group six saw leaders Yardley Arms hand out an 8-0 whitewash to bottom team Barley Mow to extend their great start to the campaign to seven straight wins and give them a four points cushion over second placed Custard House. Custard House were another late result and they had a 6-2 away win over next to bottom Small Heath Amateur Gardeners.

Biggest climber in the Brook Meadow 301 Individual League is Rob Wilson who has jumped from eighth to third in the table. With 3-0 wins over both Mark Elkin and Jason Farthers, Wilson has taken his points tally to 152 and is now only six adrift of second in the table Ian McFarlane. McFarlane also had two 3-0 wins in his games against Scott Austin and Steve Williams to leave him ten points behind leader Carl Winters who continues to impress with yet two more straight wins against Brendan Lysaght and Jay Murray.

The Pip Club League stepped away from league fixtures this week to play their divisional Challenge Cup.
In division one Queens Head won the only preliminary game against Three Horse Shoes but then made their exit in round two to Sports Bar 180. Other winners in the round were Birchmoor Club, Glascote Club and Red Lion ‘A’.
In the semi finals Glascote defeated Birchmoor, the tie between Red Lion ‘A’ and Sports Bar will be played on Thursday 17th September.
In division two there was first round wins for Kettlebrook Club, Polesworth Dart Club and Gate Inn (Amington), who in turn beat Two Gates Club, Old Liberal Club and Cuckoo’s Rest.
The last four games saw Polesworth knockout Gate Inn and Kettlebrook beat Old Liberal Club.
