With Mackadown Social having a bye this week in group one of the Sheldon and District Summer League Bromford Bridge Members Club Exiles with a 6-2 win over Sheldon Dukes have drawn level on games and points with Mackadown and leap frogged them into pole position with a slightly superior average. Saltley Amateur Gardeners chalked up their first win of the campaign a 5-3 home success against Olton RBL despite some high scoring from the visitors including a maximum, 4×140 and 3×100 from Andy Hutchings. T.White hit a 180 for Saltley.

Highwood ‘B’ continue to impress in group five with a 5-3 away win over second in the table Banbury Warriors. Highwood have taken their unbeaten run to five games and now have a five points cushion over nearest rivals Banbury.

Congratulations to Stechford Social Club who with a final 5-4 win at Potcheen Still secured the Small Heath League title in their very first season in the league. Stechford finished on 18 points two more than both Emerald Club and Potcheen Still, Emerald Club just beating Potcheen to the runners up spot by just one leg of average.

In addition to the league title Stechford also clinched the Shadow League title and were winners of the Upside Down Cup.

In the Gulp League there were wins for Lions, Tribe, Trotters and Devils in their respective games against St Andrews, Who’s, Clements and Shaftsmoor in the second round of the League Cup.

The line up for the finals night of the Grange Sunday Night 301 Charity League doubles is S.Darby / M.Forsythe, J.Norris / C.Hogshaw, E.Kennedy / T.Hogshaw and M.Cooper / W.Jones.

On the league front leader and reigning champion Jim Norris marched on with 3-0 wins over Dave Watkins and Mike Forsythe to give him a total of 7-2 points, ten more than second in the table Matt Cooper who had a 3-0 victory over Mike Forsythe including a maximum and followed that with a 2-1 win against Dennis Brindley.

There was a surprise defeat for title contender Bob Nixon in the Carlsberg Olton Double Top League when he lost 2-1 to Chris Stokes. Another player chasing for honours, Tony Randell was in a top scoring mood as he hit no fewer than three maximums in his 3-0 win over Simon Edwards. Lee Harris was also finding the treble twenties as he hit two 180’s against Phil Randell in his 3-0 win and one against Paul Nunn as he won 2-1.

The Queens Head have begun the new Pip Club League season in style with two 11-5 wins, the latest being against Winning Post to put them top of the division one table. Just two legs of average behind the leaders are Glascote Club who had a 9-7 home win over Birchmoor Club.

In the second division Kettlebrook Club followed up their opening day 13-3 win against the Bull with a 12-4 win at North Warwick Cricket Club to put them two points clear in the number one spot, Gate Inn are two points adrift but have a game in hand.
