Carl Winters, leader of the Brook Meadow 301 Individual League suffered a setback to his title hopes this week when he lost 2-1 to Rob Wilson. Winters remains in pole position with an eight points advantage as his nearest rival Darren Whitehouse also lost, going down 2-1 to Matt Gallett.

Coming up fast on the rails is Ian McFarlane who this week added another four wins to his tally, he beat Martin Bliss, Stuart Bliss and Richard King 3-0 and Terry Clay 2-1 giving him a total of 98 points taking up three places in the table to third and has a game in hand on Winters which could see him move to within four points of the leader. McFarlane chalked up a maximum against Clay and broke with a maximum 170 against Martin Bliss.

The Sheldon and District Summer League have got their new season underway and the opening fixtures saw no fewer than ten scores of 180 supplied by M.Heaven (Mackadown Social),M.Bown (Shirley RBL), R.Lucas (Old Bill and Bull), J.Green and N.Parsonage (Iron Horse), B.Nixon (RAFA), P.Franks (George V), S.Hazlett and P.Wright (Yardley Arms) and K.Fisher (Golden Acres).

Redhill Tavern’s G.Tolster was in fine form recording a 160 finish plus a nine darts leg.

Bob Nixon continues his fine form in the Carlsberg Olton Double Top League with a 3-0 win over Darren Norris and a 2-1 success against Mick Gorst giving him 11 points from four games, dropping just one leg so far. Phil and Tony Randell are both just one point adrift of Nixon with Steve Harding a further point behind.

Seven players found the three treble twenties this week, Andy Hutchings, Rhys Duncan, Chris Stokes, Mick Gorst, Dave Hutchings, Jim Norris and Bob Nixon.

The Gulp League have been engaged in the early rounds of their Singles Knockout and winning through to the quarter finals which will be played off on finals night are, P.Oseman, P.McCrave, J.Young, D.Carter, P.Yardley, M.O’Sullivan, G.Walsh and P.Wilding.

Top scorers in the Small Heath League this week were Emerald Club who chalked up a convincing 8-1 victory over bottom of the table Small Heath Amateur Gardeners. Leaders Wagon and Horses had a narrow 5-4 win in their away game against Redhill Tavern.

Olton RBL kept their title hopes on course in the Forest of Arden Winter League with a 7-2 home win over Old Bill and Bull with John Sidwell recording a seven darts leg for the hosts. Paul Curry helped Sheldon Arrows to a 7-2 win at Red Arrows with a perfect score of 180.

In the other fixtures there were 6-3 wins for Co-op Club and Golden Acres beating in turn Harvester and Sheldon Heath Flights. Greville Arms won the local derby with Greville Arrows with a close 5-4 margin Kenny’s Boy’s winning by the same scoreline in their tie with Ivy Leaf.

The Pip Club League have been engaged in their divisional singles knockouts. Globe’s Phil Turner retained the title with a final win over Sport Bar’s C.Wright, while the division two title went to A.South from the Bulls Head. M.Dolma (Queens Head) was runner up.

In the league’s Charity Shadow Knockout Wiggy 180 won the first division and Gate Inn took the second division’s title.
