West Midlands lost their first game of the season away to County Durham, but they made amends in the second when they beat Hertfordshire 22-14 at the Gilberts Bar, Willenhall. There were mixed fortunes for the ladies as the ‘A’ team had a convincing 5-1 win, Leanne Jennings (20.04) claiming her second lady of the match award for the season and fast becoming the Trina Gulliver of the West Midlands, the ’B’ team were not so fortunate as they finished on the wrong side of a 4-2 result, Claire Ford (16.67) was their award winner.
The men’s ’A’ shared the spoils in a 6-6 draw, while the ’B’ had a fantastic 10-2 win. Collecting the respective match awards were Richard Foster (27.33) and Mark Lloyd (27.73).
