Two games and two wins, that’s exactly what Warwickshire County Darts Organisation have achieved in their opening two fixtures in division one of the Kalber BDO Inter Counties Championships, what better start can any team have to a new season!!
After a 20-16 win away to Hertfordshire, Dorset at home provided the next opposition and it was cheers all round as Warwickshire chalked up their second consecutive 20-16 victory. The ladies ‘A’ side once again recorded a 5-1 win with Trina Gulliver (25.44) once more taking the match award. Wendy Adams (20.61) made it two awards in a row for the ‘B’ side, but unfortunately the team went down 4-2.
For the men Steve Hine (29.66) was the star in the ‘A’ teams 8-4 win, with Jamie Atkins (26.37) the top man in the ‘B’ teams close 7-5 defeat. Nevertheless two wins in the first two games of the season is a great start and takes them into second place in the promotional table just two points behind leaders Gwent. Also what better morale booster for their next fixture, an away game against local rivals Staffordshire.
