Olton Double Top League have completed their first six weeks of fixtures and just three points separate the top seven players. Bob Nixon, Tony Randell, Mark Wall and Lee Harris are all on 29 points, Nixon having the advantage of having played fewer games than his rivals. Just two points behind the leading pack comes Andy Hutchings, who also has games in hand on both Wall and Harris. Mick Gorst and Jim Norris both have a total of 26 points.

At this stage it looks as though it will be a hard fought battle for the league title with at least half a dozen contenders and who knows someone just outside the early pacesetters could come with a winning run to overtake them all.

Nine maximums were recorded this week, Bob Nixon (2), Andy Hutchings (2), Phil Randell, Tony Randell, Paul Higgins, Ian Spencer and Dave Duncan. Andy Hutchings chalked up both of his 180’s against Steve Sidwell and also added a 140 game shot in his 2-1 victory.
