With two more wins under his belt Ian McFarlane continues to lead the field in the brook Meadow Individual Double Top League. McFarlane’e first fixture was against Mathew Gallett, which he won 3-0, he followed that with a 2-1 success over fellow contender Mark Birch giving him a total of 40 points. Tony Comerford, with a 3-0 win over Terry Blakemore and a 2-1 win against Clive Checketts has taken over the number two spot with 36 points plus a game in hand on McFarlane.
Reigning champion Trevor Frost ahs regained his top form with 3-0 win over Clive Checketts and Keith Kelly to place him fourth eight points behind the leader.
Just one recorded maximum this week and that was from Jason Evans in a 2-1 loss to Mathew Gallett.

Division one of the Harborne and District Summer League produced a top of the table clash this week. Leaders Smethwick Labour Club played hosts to their nearest rivals Hillyfields ‘A’, both teams having won their previous four games. As expected the result was very close with the 5-4 verdict going in favour of Smethwick Labour Club to give them a two points at the top of the table. Hillyfields ‘A’ have dropped to third place behind Midland Red who recorded a convincing 8-1 win away to Quinborne.
The Bell have moved off the bottom of the table after chalking up their first win of the campaign, a 5-4 result at Woodgate Sports and Social.
In the second division Old Crown continue to impress maintaining their 100% record with a 6-3 home win over Quinton Members Club. Close rivals Hillyfields ‘B’ lost ground as they were beaten 5-4 at home to Pheasant Flights.

After only two fixtures have been completed in the Sheldon and District Summer League Brook Meadow and Olton RBL remain the only two teams in group one with a 100% win record. Brook Meadow had a 6-2 home win over Saltley Amateur Gardeners and are in pole position with a slightly better average than Olton who beat Bromford bridge Members Club 5-3.
With two wins, the latest a 5-3 home success over Saxon, Mackadown Social top group two, one point to the good of Iron Horse who had a 4-4 draw with Sheldon Dukes.
Group four’s Highwood ‘A’ had a 5-3 win at Sheldon Social and have the biggest lead in the league, a two points advantage over four teams, Sheldon Social, Ivy Leaf, Small Heath Gardeners Flights and Yardley Ex Colts.
No fewer than eight 180’s were chalked up this week supplied by M.Bown (Shirley RBL), T.Randell (Saltley Amateur Gardeners), A.Gallett (Bromford Bridge), P.Nunn (Olton RBL), C.Okey (Hen and Chickens), R.Lucas (Old Bill and Bull), P.Yardley (Shannons) and D.Pountney (Small Heath Gardeners Flights).

Globe Inn did their title aspirations in division one of the Pip Club League no harm at all this week when they handed out an 8-0 whitewash to bottom of the table Bull (Polesworth). Second placed Belgrave Club kept the pressure on the leaders with a 7-1 success over Sports Bar and remain three points behind with a game in hand.
