An array of cup finals brought the curtain down on the season for the Four Oaks and District League. First the singles knockout for the Dereck Masters Trophy, which saw Midland Red provide both finalists in the shape of R.Hawker and M.Harris, the 2-0 result going in favour of R.Hawker.
The Richard Winslow Pairs competition was another straight 2-0 win for Sportsmans Rest duo A.Stainfield and J.Dunn who beat Boot Flights representatives C.Millward and D.Jarvis jnr in the final.
League champions Midland Red added the Brian Goodman Cup to their silverware cabinet with a 6-3 win over league runners up Sportsmans Rest.
The Ken Rust Cup title went to Hill Social who with another 6-3 result beat Boldmere Sports. Hill Social were on the mark again in the Norman Day Cup final coming from 7-5 down against Anvil Nomads to snatch an 8-7 win. Consolation for Anvil Nomads was that they gained a close 4-3 win over Cross Keys PPA in the final of the Second Division Trophy.

The Tribe have lost not only the number one spot but also their undefeated record in the GULP League after going down 5-2 at home to the Lions. As a result the Who’s have taken over pole position following their convincing 6-1 home win over the Beasts giving them a total of 12 points from their opening seven games, similar to the Tribe but with a superior average.
In the first round of the League Cup all four games resulted in away wins. Going into the hat for the next round are Beasts, Rebels, Tribe and Who’s, who in turn beat Devils, Wagon 26’s, Lions and Vicars.
The last eight of the singles knockout going through to finals on Wednesday 2nd July are, E.Bullock, D.Howlett, J.McCaffrey, S.Ollerenshaw, P.Oseman, G.Tolster, P.Webster and T.C.Webster.

The top four teams in division one of the Pip Club League all won this week, leaders Globe recorded an emphatic 7-1 away win over the Dolphin, while Belgrave Club with a 6-2 home success against Queens Head hang on to second place only trailing behind the Globe on average. Sports Bar Club, who won 6-2 at Glascote Club are third, one point behind the leading pair and a further one point behind is newly promoted Wiggy 180 who beat the Bull 5-2.
In division two just one point of average separates the top two teams. Kettlebrook Club, who had a bye this week are top with Winning Post, who beat Wigginton 5-3 second.
All league secretaries are reminded that the Pip Club is the setting for a league meeting this coming Sunday at 11.00am.

Congratulations go to the West Midlands who last weekend in the final game of the season in division two of the Kaliber BDO Inter Counties Championships beat third placed Norfolk 20-16 to finish runners up in the league and earn promotion to division one.
A few rumours going around about some new players signing for the challenge of the division one promotion campaign , the biggest of which is the return of former player and current Warwickshire player Tom Aldridge.
There has been a tremendous performance by all four teams to gain promotion but particular mention of the men’s ’A’ side who won their divisional title.

Two leagues on the lookout for new blood are, first the Sheldon and District Summer League who have just one vacancy remaining for the forthcoming season. Matches are played on Thursday nights and the season will get underway on the 5th June.
