In division two West Midlands were playing an away game against their nearest rivals Derbyshire and went down 19-17 in what could be a vital result in their promotion race. The table at present sees Derbyshire top with 173 points, West Midlands 170, Norfolk 168 and Sussex 165 and the West Midlands final game is against Norfolk, what a finish it’s going to be. The men’s ‘A’ finished all square at 6-6, the ‘B’ lost 7-5, the ladies ‘A’ lost 5-1 and the ‘B’ won 5-1. Taking the match awards were Mark Jones (‘A’ 27.87), Richard Foster (‘B’ 25.47), Sara Jukes (‘A’ 20.04), Sarah Robbins (‘B’ 18.70).
