Warwickshire County Darts Organisation go into their fourth of nine fixtures this coming weekend when they travel south to take on Oxfordshire at the Lord Nuffield Club (known as the Morris Motors Club), 129 Crescent Road, Cowley Oxford. The Brook Meadow League have been busy finishing their league programme and also playing off their singles and doubles knockouts.
On the league front reigning champion Steve Frost retained his title with final 3-1 and 4-0 wins over respective opponents Mark Elkin and league runner Ross Macken. Frost ended the campaign with a total of 166 points with Macken way back on 146.
Frost then went on to make it a great double when with a final 7-5 result once again pipped Macken to lift the singles title. Not enough to win the league and singles title’s Frost with the aid of his partner Gordon Clinton chalked up a 5-1 victory over Ian McFarlane and Terry Blakemore in the doubles final for a fantastic treble.

Local rivals and the bottom two teams in the premier division of the Sheldon and District Winter League, Shard End RBL and Shard End Social squared up to each other this week. With both teams without a win so far something had to give and the result was a 6-3 win for RBL ’A’. Shard End RBL ’B’ won their game at Mackadown Social 6-3 to maintain their number one position with14 points, two ahead of both Saltley Amateur Gardeners and Olton RBL who each have a game in hand on the leaders.
No fewer than four teams are locked together on 12 points at the top of division one, Pavilions, Yardley Ex Colts, Hobs Meadow and Lea Hall Nomads, with Hobs having played one fixture fewer than their rivals. A 7-2 win at Custard House keeps Willclare Sports and Social two points clear of Glebe Farm Community Association and Bordesley Labour Club in division two.
180’s this week for B.Cadby (Brook Meadow), B.Mason (Yardley Ex Colts) and 160 breaks for B.Bourne (Pavilions) and I.Durrington (Small Heath Amateur Gardeners).

The second round of the Brian Goodman Cup was on the fixture card for the Four Oaks and District League. Biggest winners of the round were ever improving first division side Sportsmans Rest who beat division two leaders Anvil Nomads 8-1. Pint Pot won 5-4 against Cross Keys PPA in a match that went to the wire and being decided on the very last leg. Old Oscott Arrows won 7-2 at home to Cross Keys, a game that was much closer than the scoreline suggests, and a depleted Midland Red just managed a 5-4 win away to second division team Oscott Social.

The top two teams in the Small Heath League Mitre and Emerald Club both chalked up wins in their latest fixtures, Mitre winning 7-2 at third in the table Victoria 301 Club and Emerald by the same scoreline accounted for Potcheen Still.

Following a 6-2 win against Red Lion ’A’ the Glascote Club have moved into pole position in division one of the Pip Club League. Former leaders Queens Head could only manage a 4-4 draw at the Globe Inn.
In division two Boot Inn surprisingly lost 6-2 at the Winning Post and as a result are now four points behind top team Wiggy 180 who had a 6-2 win at Royal Oak.
