Local counties Warwickshire and West Midlands have been in action again in their respective division’s one and two of the Kaliber BDO Inter Counties Championships and their results have seen both of them move into second place in their promotional tables.
Warwickshire had an away fixture with Dorset and despite both ladies teams going down 4-2 returned 19-17 victors to leave them just one point behind divisional leaders and local rivals Staffordshire. The men’s ’B’ recorded th best result of the weekend a 9-3 win over their counterparts, with Tony Brown man of the match with a superb 32.67 average. The ’A’ side finished all square at six each, their top man Tom Aldridge (31.98). Award winners for the ladies were Tracey Edgecombe (16.52) for the ’B’ and it almost goes without saying Trina Gulliver (25.61) for the ’A’.
West Midlands travelled to the capital to take on London and returned with a share of the points in an 18-18 draw to put them nine points adrift of leaders Nottinghamshire. Both men’s sides won 7-5 with Steve Farmer (31.41) and Matt Dicken (26.18) taking the respective ’A’ and ’B’ awards. The ladies ’A’ earned a 3-3 draw, with Leanne Jennings (21.47) taking their lady of the match award and Diane Tooley (17.88) claiming the trophy for the ’B’ team as she was the sole winner in a 5-1 deficit,
