Local counties Warwickshire and West Midlands have been in action again in their respective division’s one and two of the Kaliber BDO Inter Counties Championships and their results have seen both of them move into second place in their promotional tables.

Warwickshire had an away fixture with Dorset and despite both ladies teams going down 4-2 returned 19-17 victors to leave them just one point behind divisional leaders and local rivals Staffordshire. The men’s ’B’ recorded th best result of the weekend a 9-3 win over their counterparts, with Tony Brown man of the match with a superb 32.67 average. The ’A’ side finished all square at six each, their top man Tom Aldridge (31.98). Award winners for the ladies were Tracey Edgecombe (16.52) for the ’B’ and it almost goes without saying Trina Gulliver (25.61) for the ’A’.

West Midlands travelled to the capital to take on London and returned with a share of the points in an 18-18 draw to put them nine points adrift of leaders Nottinghamshire. Both men’s sides won 7-5 with Steve Farmer (31.41) and Matt Dicken (26.18) taking the respective ’A’ and ’B’ awards. The ladies ’A’ earned a 3-3 draw, with Leanne Jennings (21.47) taking their lady of the match award and Diane Tooley (17.88) claiming the trophy for the ’B’ team as she was the sole winner in a 5-1 deficit,

With a maximum score from K.Day Boldmere Sports continue to lead the field in division one of the Four Oaks and District League after a 6-3 away win over Old Oscott Arrows. Reigning champions, Sportsmans Rest broke their duck with a similar 6-3 home win against newly promoted Deer’s Leap. In his first season of darts J.Yates (Red Lion Flights) hit a 180 however, his team wee not so successful as they lost 7-2 at Midland Red. Hardy Spicer won a close tussle with Boot Flights by 5-4, a match which saw every game go to the wire.

In division two Aston Social and Anvil Nomads were involved in another cliff hanger, with the former just getting the 5-4 edge. Excellent darts came from Aston’s R.George and J.West, while P.Allen and W.Chinn were in top form for the Nomads.

In the Brook Meadow Individual League Gordon Clinton, with scores of 2×121 and 2×100 held would be champion Ross Macken to a 2-2 draw. Macken made amends with a 3-1 win over Matthew Gallett to give him 123 points from 26 games to hold on to the number spot. Jason Evans has moved into second place following a 2-2 draw with fourth in the table Ian McFarlane and a 4-0 win over John Masefield. Trevor Frost is third on 111 points but has games in hand on both Macken and Evans.

After the majority of teams have completed six fixtures in the Warwickshire Men’s Super League leading the way is Tamworth Winning Post on 46 points. Second placed Leamington are only one point behind the Tamworth before a nine points gap to third placed Hall Green. The only remaining team without a win so far is Kenilworth who have drawn two and lost three.

Mitre, reigning champions in the Small Heath League have once again taken over pole position. A 6-3 win at Victoria Flights, plus former leaders Victoria 301 Club going down 5-4 at the Emerald Club has given them the number one spot. Mitre 301 Club and Emerald are all on the same 6 points with only average separating them. Wagon and Horse had a close 5-4 win at Potcheen Still, thanks going to Kim Pestridge who won 2-1 against John McCaffrey who hit 180, 140 and 100 Kim’s response was 137,100 plus several scores of 80 or over.

Glascote Club have been knocked off the top of the division one table in the Pip Club League following their first defeat of the season, a 5-3 reversal at Gobe Inn. Queens Head have taken over the top position winning 5-3 at home to Red Lion ’A’. After opening the season with seven consecutive draws Three Horse Shoes lost their first game going down 6-2 at home to Tamworth Sports Centre.

In division two leaders Wiggy 180 were held to a 4-4 draw by local rivals Wigginton, but stay two points ahead of second placed Red Lion (Polesworth) who also finished all square at four each with Royal Oak (Kingsbury).
