The Warwickshire Darts Organisation are back in action again this coming weekend as they prepare to begin life in division one of the BDI Inter Counties Championship after suffering relegation from the premier division last season. They begin their programme with a home fixture against Hertfordshire playing at the Canley Sports and Social Club, Coventry.

Trevor Frost did not play in this week’s fixtures in the Brook Meadow Individual League however, he still holds on to pole position with 60 points. Ross Macken is second on 58 points after chalking up a 3-1 win over Jason Evans followed by a 4-0 success against Mark Elkin. Evans lost ground in the title race managing only a 2-2 draw with Mark Elkin after his straight legs defeat to Macken.
Moving up the table is Gordon Clinton. Clinton has now taken over fourth spot with 44 points, his latest games seeing him beat John Masefield 4-0 in which he recorded a tremendous 160 game shot and then winning a vital game against his nearest rival Matthew Gallett 3-1 to leave Gallett one point adrift of Clinton.

Saltley Amateur Gardeners extended their lead at the top of group one in the Sheldon and District Summer League when they travelled to their nearest rivals Bromford bridge Members Club and returned with a 5-3 win putting them on 15 points, five ahead of Bromford and Olton RBL. Olton finished all square at four each in their home game with Shard End RBL ’B’.
Castle Vale Residents Association moved to within one point of group two leaders Banbury Club when they won 6-2 against Hen and Chickens, Banbury having a 4-4 draw at RAFA.
Sheldon Social (group five) and Highwood (group six) remain the only two teams in the league with a 100% record. Sheldon handed out an 8-0 whitewash to their hosts Yardley Ex Flights, while Highwood were winning 6-2 at Small Heath Amateur Gardeners.
Maximums this week were hit by C.Sammons (Stechford Social), C.Betteridge (CVRA), C.Okey (Hen and Chickens), S.Darby (Yardley Ex Colts) and C.Tombs (Sheldon Social).

Cup finals were on the Small Heath League fixture card. First the Divisional Cup in which the top two teams in the league Mitre and Custard House squared up to each other. It was the former and league champions Mitre that won the day. The Upside Down final was won by Victoria Flights with Emerald Club finishing as runners up.

In division one of the Pip Club League Glascote Club won their first game of the season and what a win it was. Playing away to former leaders Dolphin, Glascote returned with a resounding 8-0 victory to take them into second place just one point’s behind Queens Head who beat Hopwas Club 5-3. Dolphin have now dropped to third place, Two Gates Club also recorded their first win of the campaign, a 5-3 win at the Globe, they have moved up to fourth place two points adrift of the leaders.
