With Trevor Frost not playing any games in the Brook Meadow Individual League this week Mark Elkin has taken advantage and a 2-2 draw with Keith Kelly plus a 4-0 win against Gordon Clinton has seen him take over pole position with a total of 18 points. Newcomer Tony Cooke is in second place with 15 points after chalking up two 3-1 wins over Keith Kelly and Matthew Gallett. Gordon Clinton produced the highest outshot of the week, a 130 game shot against Dave Elliott. However it turned out to be Gordon’s only win as Dave with scores of 180,3×140,123,117,2×100 and a 102 finish went on to win 3-1. Other players hitting a maximum were Robbie Earl, Ross Macken, Keith Kelly, Jason Evans and Matthew Gallett.

A top of the table clash in group six of the Sheldon and District Summer League saw Millhouse suffer their first defeat of the campaign when they went down 5-3 at the Highwood to maintain the hosts 100% record. Highwood now lead the field with six points from three games with Millhouse who have played one game more than the leaders lying in second place.

It’s still neck and neck in group one where the two top teams Bromford Bridge Members Club and Saltley Amateur Gardeners dead level on games average and points, Bromford top on alphabetical order only. In the latest round of matches both teams won 5-3, Bromford away to Mackadown Social and Saltley, who also travelled beat Olton RBL.

It’s also very close in group two where Castle Vale Residents Association are top on seven points, but only by one leg of average over Banbury Club.

Mitre continue their dazzling form in the Small Heath League extending their winning run this season to twelve games with a 5-4 home win over their nearest rivals Victoria 301 Club. Because of their defeat the 301 Club have now dropped to third place behind Custard House who with a close 5-4 win at the Emerald Club has a superior average over 301 Club. Mitre are currently on 24 points with Custard House and the 301 Club six points adrift

The Pip Club League will be holding their next league meeting on Sunday 29th July at 11-00am at the Pip Club. The league will then get the season underway on Thursday 2nd August.
