It was not a good start to 2007 for Warwickshire County Darts Organisation as they returned from Glasshoughton WMC, Castleford where they took on Yorkshire in their fifth of nine fixtures in the premier division of the Kaliber BDO Inter Counties Championship after suffering a 20-16 defeat, their fourth reversal of the campaign.
Saturday’s games saw the ladies earn a 3-3 draw, with Wendy Adams (18.79) taking the lady of the match award. The men’s ’B’, still seeking their first win of the season went down 7-5, their top player, Tony Brown, with a very creditable 30.67 average.
The ladies once again played their part on Sunday, when the ’A’ side chalked up a 4-2 win, to remain unbeaten so far. Trina Gulliver (28.36) took the match award. The men’s ’A’ season got no better as they slipped to an 8-4 defeat, making it four defeats in five, their only joy so far a 7-5 success against Cornwall. Steve Hines 29.47 average gave him the team’s award.
