Jason Evans holds on to pole position in the Brook Meadow Individual League following two more 3-0 victories against Jon Miley and Mark Elkin to give Evans a total of 28 points. Hot on the heels of Evans is Ian McFarlane who is just one point adrift of the leader. McFarlane, with scores of a maximum, 140 and five tons plus a twelve darts leg, chalked up a vital 3-0 win over one of his nearest rivals Gordon Clinton. In his other match he defeated one of this seasons newcomers Stuart Bloomer 2-1hitting 2×140, 7×100 to Bloomer’s 2×140 and 3×100.
At the other end of the table another two new players to the league, Warren Rudd and Barry French moved a step up the table as they recorded their first wins of the campaign. Rudd opened his account with a 2-1 win against Barry French, while French beat Carl Winters 2-1. Jon Miley has taken over the bottom position, but is only two points behind both Rudd and French.

After two consecutive defeats Midland Red have returned to winning ways in division one of the Harborne and District 401 Summer League with a convincing 7-2 success against Cock Inn. The George, who took over the number one spot from Midland Red have also suffered a set back to their title aspirations as they went down 6-3 at Smethwick Labour Club, whose A.Arnold recorded scores of 180 and 4×100’s plus a 112 break and a 104 outshot. For the George, A Powell hit 180, 5×100 and E.Greasely 180,125 and 2×100.In the other two division one matches Bartley Green F.C. and Old Mill in turn defeated Quinton Members Club and Quinton Members Club Flights 5-4.
In the second division Harborne Stores maintained their push for promotion with a 5-4 home win over Hillyfields, aided by a score of 180 from P.Hughes. Quinborne were the division’s biggest winners romping to an 8-1 home victory against Stonehouse, while the Pheasant, with a maximum score from I.Horton beat Bartley Green Social Club 5-4.

White Lion have lost the number one position in division one of the Pip Club League. Playing at home against mid table Two Gates Club, the best White Lion could muster was a 4-4 draw. Dolphin have taken over the top of the table spot, a 6-2 away win over Three Horse Shoes giving them a total of 14 points, which although is only the same as White Lion they have a superior average.
A similar situation occurred in division two where Tamworth Sports Bar won 6-2 at Boot Inn giving them 14 points from eight games and their nearest rivals, Hopwas Club finished all square at four each at the Mercian Club, which leaves them on the same 14 points but having played one game more than the Sports bar and an inferior average.
Also on the league’s fixture card has been the Division One Challenge Cup. The quarter finals saw wins for Dolphin, Three Horse Shoes, Queens Head and Red Lion ’A’ at the expense in turn of White Lion, Royal Oak (Kingsbury), Two Gates Club and Globe Inn.
In the semi finals Dolphin beat Three Horse Shoes, joining them n the final will be Red Lion ’A’ who accounted for Queens Head.
