Warwickshire trek north to take on mighty Yorkshire in their fifth of nine premier division games in the BDO Kaliber Inter Counties Championship turned out to be a weekend of mixed fortunes. The ladies teams both finished all square at three each. The inimitable Trina Gulliver with a fabulous 30.06 average took the ’A’ side match award, while for the ’B’ it was Betty Sinnett (19.32). However, the men’s results were a different affair. Both finished on the wrong side of an 8-4 verdict giving an overall result of 22-14 in favour of the hosts, making it two defeats in a row for Warwickshire. Collecting the trophies for the respective ’A’ and ’B’ best games were Mark Holyoake (29.42) and Mick Gorst (26.40).
