An away game against Hampshire was the latest BDO Inter Counties Championships, premier division fixture for Warwickshire and they returned with a tremendous 24-15 win to place them third in the table with 91 points, just six adrift of leaders Cheshire and only four behind second placed Yorkshire.
There were highs and lows in Saturday’s games with the ladies going down 4-2 and the men winning 8-4. Taking the respective match awards were Betty Sinnett (20.04) and Tony Brown (32.67). In the ’A’ team games the ladies, aided by a 23.86 average from lady of the match Claire Bywaters, won 5-1, while the men finished honours even at 6-6, Steve Hine (28.920) collecting their top man award.
