Harvester, currently place three quarters of the way down the Forest of Arden Winter League provided the shock of the week, when they handed out a 5-4 defeat to leaders Highwood Arrows, Arrows first defeat of the season in fourteen outings. Hobs Meadow’s indifferent season continues as they suffered their sixth defeat, going down 6-3 at home to Red Arrows, who are now second, four points adrift of the leaders.
Hot shots this week were Simon Kennedy (Highwood Arrows), Brian Anderton (Hobs Meadow Mixes) 180, Alice Malin (Old Bill and Bull), Wayne Matthews (Hobs Meadow) 160 breaks, B.Phillips (Farringdon Social) 8 darts game.
On the 4th March the league will be staging the semi finals of their Presidents Cup, Highwood will play Glades at the Cock and Hens and Highwood Arrows will take on Sheldon Heath Social Flights at Red Arrows. The same night the preliminary round of the Consolation Cup will see Harvester play Mackadown Social and Hobs Meadow play Stechford Social.

The Harborne and District Winter League have been busy with the preliminary round of their League Cup. Travellers Rest were the biggest winners of the round beating Stonehouse 8-1. George were not far behind with a 7-2 result against Avenue Social. Hillyfields, Smethwick Labour Club, Bell Midland Red and Punchbowl had 6-3 victories over respective opponents New Inns, W.C.WMC, Raven, Bartley Green Social Club and Highlander Flights, while Hobsons Choice beat Weoley Castle 5-4.

Three players, Mick Smith, John Green and Robert Mills share the lead in the Belgrave Social Individual League on 88 points each. However, there were mixed fortunes for the three as Smith suffered a 2-1 defeat against John Green and Mills a 3-0 loss at the hands of Martin Brown. Green was the only one of the three to win both of his games against Mick Smith and Lance Thompson.

Saunders Hall WMC, Bedworth was the setting for the finals of the men’s and women’s finals of the Bedworth Gateway Open Competitions. Taking the men’s title with a a 4-3 success against Tipton Sports and Social was the Nags Head from Cambridgeshire. The women’s crown went to the White Hart (Lincolnshire) with the White Hart (Lincolnshire) finishing as runners up.

Heartlands power on in the Small Heath League as they chalked up a 9-0 whitewash against the Black Horse to give them 18 points, four more than second in the table Custard House, who beat the Antelope 6-3. However, Custard House do have a game in hand on the leaders.
Bottom team Gables Tavern recorded their first win in nine and the first of the campaign a 6-3 success against Ward End Ex Service Club.
