Hobs Meadow and Hobs Meadow Mixes are the only remaining teams with a 100% win record in the Forest of Arden Winter League. Mixes, with a 160 break from Mark Osborne, won 5-4 at the Old Bill and Bull, while reigning champions Hobs Meadow, aided by a 160 break from Mick Benson had a more comfortable 6-3 success at home to the Harvester.
John Stait (Solihull Borough Flights) not only hit a maximum but also checked out on 156. Nevertheless, his team still finished on the wrong side of a 6-3 scoreline. Following their tremendous 6-3 win over the Harvester last week, Farringdon Social reverted back to their previous form and went down 8-1 to Stechford Social, their third such defeat in four games.

Preliminary cup rounds were on the agenda for the Harborne and District Winter League. First the Wadsworth Cup in which Village Stump chalked up a 9-0 whitewash over Highlander Ladies and Punchbowl, with a 6-3 result accounted for Hobsons Choice.
Village Stump suffered a complete change of fortunes when in the Skipp Cup they finished on the wrong side of a 15-0 whitewash at the hands of the Highlander team. W.C.WMC and Pheasant Flights were involved in a close affair with the former getting the 8-7 verdict.

Two newcomers to the Minworth Social Individual League, Mark Hollyoake and Peter Allen, continue to make good progress. Hollyoake had 3-0 wins against Terry Clinton (180) and Dawn Barnes, while Allen had similar results over Tony Pedley and Carl Betteridge, a game in which Alen hit two maximums.
Reigning champion Richie Shenton suffered an early setback to his title hopes when after scoring a 180 he lost 2-1 to Barry Stephens. However, he quickly recovered to beat Tom Dillon 3-0. Other players to hit the three treble twenties were Trevor Frost (2), Alan Mayell, Terry Clinton, Tom Dillon, Steve Hawkes and Carl Betteridge.

Rob South and Steve Hine were in a high scoring mood in the Sportsmans Rest Double Top League when both hit two maximums in their respective 2-1 victories over Richie Shenton and Tony Pedley. John Ainsworth was also in top form when he hit top scores of 180, 4×140 and recorded 12 and 13 darts legs against Steve Hine whom he beat 3-0. Shenton stays in pole position with 90 points with Ainsworth hot on his heels with 88 points.
Steve Cain and Tom Dillon also hit a 180 as they defeated in turn Derek Fardon 3-0 and Tony Pedley 2-1.

KCA’s K.Stephens had a 160 break in his team’s convincing 9-0 win over the King Edward in the Aston League. Heartlands were also in good form as the defeated Aston Social 8-1, T.Caroll checking out in eight darts. Hardy Spicer’s J.Tyrie also went out in eight darts as his side won 6-3 at the Tennis Courts.

Sheldon Heath Flights began the new campaign in the Small Heath League with a bang as the beat Black Horse 8-1. In the battle at the Custard House the ‘A’ side beat the ‘B’ 6-3. Ward End Ex Service and Saltley Flights both had 5-4 wins over Red Devils and Montgomerys.
The latest numbers to win the league’s Dartt’o Game are, 1st 151 (serial number CC997384) £25, 2nd 726 (serial number RSW000034) £15, 3rd 188 (serial number RA2FSS4S) £10.

Two Gates Club, currently third in division one of the Longwood Winter League, gained a vital point when they travelled to take on leaders Three Horse Shoes and returned with a 4-4 draw. White Lion, second on 7 points, two adrift of Shoes, had a 6-2 home win over Wilnecote Club.
The top two teams in division two, Railway and Royal Oak (Kingsbury) had respective 6-2 wins against the Plough and Harrow and the Boot (Warton).
