Warwickshire’s journey north to take on Yorkshire in the premier division of the BDO Inter Counties Championship was rewarded with a share of the points. There were mixed fortunes in Saturday’s games as the women won 4-2 (lady of the match Pat Thornton 22.37) and the men went down 9-3 with Mick Bagley their top man recording a super 31.11 average.
The women’s ‘A’ had a similar 4-2 victory as their ‘B’ side. Inevitably the lady of the match was Trina Gulliver with a great 27.83 average, making it an amazing fourteen consecutive match awards for the England International. The men made it three wins in a row with their 7-5 win. Taking the honours for the ‘A’ side for a second successive game was Tony Brown (28.47).
