In division one of the Harborne 401 Summer League Stonehouse Nomads proved to be far too hot for Hillyfields to handle as they raced to a 9-0 whitewash. B.Davenport, like his team, was top form as he hit two maximums for the Nomads. Stonehouse continued their winning run with a 6-3 success against Greenlands.
Highlander, division two leaders maintained their push for promotion winning 6-3 at the Golden Cup. However, second placed Hobsons Choice kept the pressure on the leaders with a similar 6-3 win over the Plough. Coronation Club, with a 180 from M.Musto, snatched a 5-4 victory at home to Avenue Social.
There was a top of the table clash in the third division when second in the table Harborne Stores took on third placed Bartley Green FC. The 7-2 verdict went in favour of the home side, Harborne Stores.

The latest round of fixtures in the Bass Breweries sponsored Minworth Social Individual League turned out to be a real night of high scores with noe fewer than ELEVEN maximums being recorded. Ian Humphries hit two in his 2-1 win over John Turner while Colin Farrington also chalked up a pair against Chris Packer. Nevertheless Chris with just one 180 plus 121 and 5×100 won the tie 2-1.
Other players to find the three treble twenties were Derek Mountjoy, Alan Mayell, Dave Shorthouse and Gordon Clinton. In the game between Rob South and Steve Parry, both scoed a maximum, the former got the 3-0 result.

Sutton continue to lead the field in the Irish Centre Four a Side Ladies League, their most recent 14-7 success coming against their nearest rivals, second placed Acocks Green. Yet again Lesley Newcombe was Sutton’s top player, but by her own standards rather a quiet evening, she only hit four tons. Yardley had a 13-8 win over Selly Park.

Singles and Doubles Knockout’s were on the agenda for the Birmingham Ladies Double Top League. Playing at their headquarters, the Irish Centre, Digbeth, the singles crown was won by this season’s newcomer to the league Debbie Bloomer who defeated Angie Bourne 2-1 in the final. In the semi’s Debbie beat Chris Brooks in straight legs while Angie, with a 2-1 result took out Joyce Webster who had previously beaten the league champion Vicky Edwards.
In the doubles Debbie teamed up with Vicky Edwards and again lifted the champion’s silverware. Finishing as runners up were Jeanette James and Pat Bradshaw. Chris Brooks and Joyce Webster lost to the champions in the semi’s and Angie Bourne and Janet Dudley were the other duo to reach the last four.

No change in the Small Heath Summer League table as all of the top three teams won. Black Horse with 12 points hold pole position, they beat the Bear with a close 5-4 win, G.Walsh helping them on their way with a 180. Second placed McDwyers also won 5-4 as they accounted for Sheldon Heath Flights. The biggest win of the week went to third placed Custard House, a 7-2 success over bottom of the table Red Hill, who after seven games, are the only team in the league who have not won a match.
