Congratulations to Hobs Meadow who with a final 6-3 win over Cocks and Hens have won the Forest of Arden Winter League title. But it was oh so close as Red Arrows, who had lead the field all season lost pole position in the latter stages and finished their programme with a convincing 8-1 success against Mackadown Social. Unfortunately for Arrows it was not enough as they ended all square on points with Hobs but with a far inferior average.
Hobs Meadow Mixes also finished on a high by clinching the shadow league title. Going into the final fixture they were level on points and average with the Harvester, their last opponents, the Harvester. The result was a close 5-4 verdict to Hobs to give them the honours.

Heartlands were top scorers in the Amber Windows League beating the Mitre with a 9-0 whitewash. Following closely were K.C.A. and Bagot Arms who both had 8-1 victories against respective opponents Seventh Trap and Lyndhurst.
A.Mountford (Old Oscott Social) recorded a fine 141 checkout and chalked up a nine darts leg as his side won 7-2 at the Vauxhall Social while Aston Social and Yew tree Colts each won 5-4 playing in turn against King Edward 7th and the Woodman.

It’s now beginning to look like a two horse race in the Warwickshire Men’s Super League as leaders Birmingham Vauxhall romped to an 8-0 win at home to Rugby giving them a total of 126 points from 18 games. hot on the heels of Vauxhall are Birmingham Midland Red who also won, 5-3 against Tamworth which puts them on 117 points, but with a match in hand of the leaders.
Third placed Bedworth Bank’s, on 115 points had a bye, closing the gap on them are Coventry Howitzers who won 7-2 as hosts to Coventry Potters Green. Howitzers are only two points adrift of Bedworth having played 17 games, one less than the third placed team, should be quite an interesting run in to the end of the season.

In the BDO Inter County Youth League Warwickshire made the short journey to the Chubbs Sports and Social Club, Wolverhampton, where they took on the West Midlands. Warwickshire got the better start going 2-0 up thanks to John Whittaker and Andrew Shepherd. The home team replied quickly, Michael Beasley, Gavin Baker and Ricky Brindley reversing the scoreline to give them a 3-2 lead. The remaining four games all went in Warwickshire’s favour to give them a 6-3 win.
The under 21 girls match was again a win for the away team, the 3-0 result provided by Yvonne Simpson, Viki Franklin and Dawn Simpson, Leanne Jenn was the only West Midlands player to win a leg/
West Midlands were unable to win a leg in the boys under 21 match, David Damp, Steve Sharpe, David Harris, Andy Hodges and Simon Charlton all winning 2-0 to finish 5-0, putting the overall final score at 14-3 to Warwickshire.
