Warwickshire made it three wins in a row when last weekend, in division one of the BDO Inter Counties Championship, they won at home 29-10 against Lincolnshire. Playing at the Belgrave Sports and Social Club, Tamworth, Warwickshire got off to a fine start when the ladies ‘B’ team beat their counterparts 5-1 with Carol Weston taking the match award with a 19.63 average. The men’s team were also winners chalking up an 8-4 success, Colin Laffar (33.07) their top man.
Sunday’s results were a carbon copy of the previous day. The ladies, inspired by a magnificent performance from Trina Gulliver won 5-1. Trina gave her opponent Tracy Wilkinson no chance whatsoever. In the first leg she hit 135-100-100-130 and checked out on double eighteen for a tremendous 13 darts leg. She followed that with scores of 180-140 and 100 and took the second in 15 darts. Completing her 3-0 victory Trina had top scores of 100-100-100 and 105 in the third leg, which she won in 16 darts for a fabulous 34.16 average. To round off the weekend the men’s ‘A’ won 8-4, Kevin Dowling taking the match award with his 32.86 average.
