The Acocks Green Winter League championship has been decided, taking the honours are Tyseley WMC who have pipped Shirley RBL to the post. Some consolation for Shirley however, in the final of the league cup, played at the Tyseley Staff, they won the title with a 6-3 success against Brewers Arms.

In the Forest of Arden Winter League Red Arrows with only three remaining fixtures are four points clear of their nearest rivals Hobs Meadow, the reigning champions, with silver Wings currently third.
In the latest round of matches, Arrows produced a crushing 9-0 whitewash in their away game against Hobs Meadow Mixes, while Hobs Meadow, keeping in touch with the leaders beat Cornerstones 7-2, the same margin by which Silver Wings defeated the Harvester.

Hobsons Choice and Bartley Green Social Club were involved in a high scoring affair in division one of the Harborne 401 Summer League. The two teams recorded no fewer than 54 scores of a ton or more in a match which was won by Hobsons 6-3. For the winners S.Evans hit 2×100 breaks, 5×100 and106 finish. Best for Bartley was S Riddick who also had 2×100 breaks and scored an amazing eight tons. Biggest win of the division went to Bell Inn who with a 9-0 scoreline accounted for Old Crown.
In division two a 160 break from R.Hunt helped his side, Greenlands to a 7-2 win over Village Stump, while in the third division Punchbowl had a comfortable 9-0 victory against Highlander Ladies. Bugle Horn were not too far behind that scoreline with their 8-1 success against Bear and Staff.

Selly Park consolidated their pole position in the Irish Centre Four a Side Ladies League with a 16-5 win over bottom of the table Perry Barr. It almost goes without saying that Selly Park’s top player of the week was Lesley Newcombe. Lesley’s top shots were 4×100,2×121,125 and 2×140. Second placed Handsworth lost a little ground as they went down 12-9 to Northfield, Ward End, in third place closing the gap as they won 11-10 in their match with Sheldon. Sue Barratt was in form for Ward End hitting 4×100 plus a magnificent 180.

The early leaders in the Birmingham Ladies Double Top League are Jeanette James and reigning champion Joyce Webster. After eight matches both players have 20 points. In the most recent games played Jeanette had 3-0 wins against Maureen Bostock and Lucy Hart, while Joyce had similar wins against Kay Chambers and Sheila Smith.
Julie James, just two points adrift of the leading pair had mixed fortunes in her games. First she had a 3-0 success against Sheila Smith but then she finished on the wrong side of a 2-1 scoreline against Vicky Edwards.

The William Kelly Memorial Knockout will be staged at the Pensnett Services Memorial Club on Saturday 8th May.
