Wernley, leaders of the premier division of the Harborne and District Winter League won a cracking game against one of their nearest rivals Midland Red 5-4. Playing at home, Midland Red’s W.Kernohan had a 156 break, C.Hall and M.Hollyoake 120 breaks, but it was not enough to stop the visitors extending their advantage at the top of the table.
Bartley Green Social Club confirmed themselves as division one champions with a 6-3 win at the Plough, while in division two top team Stonehouse stayed on course for honours with a 7-2 home win over Harborne Stores.

Warwickshire go into their penultimate fixture in the Premier Division of the BDO Inter Counties Championship this coming weekend. Playing at home at the Belgrave Sports and Social club, Tamworth, Warwickshire will be taking on Lancashire and with only two victories in seven matches so far, the local county will be looking for victory to help safeguard their premier division status.

With only two fixtures remaining in the Warwickshire Men’s Super League, leaders Coventry Howitzers have opened up a seventeen points lead over their nearest rivals Bedworth Bank’s. In the latest matches Howitzers gained an impressive 7-1 away win at Minworth, while Bedworth, in their home game with Coventry Potters green won 5-3..

No change at the top of the Acocks Green Winter League as Tyseley WMC, in pole position, roared to a 7-2 win at the Britannia Arrows. The fight is on for second place and the latest round of games bought together two of the contenders, Shirley Legion and Journeys End. The 6-3 result went in favour of the home side, Shirley Legion, who have now taken over the number two spot with Journey’s dropping into third place.
In the other games played Red Rooster lost 5-4 at home to Robin Hood and Brewers Arms won 7-2, playing hosts to the Moonraker.

Tipton were in fine form in the West Midlands Men’s Super League winning 8-1 at Bloxwich to give them a total of 66 points, fourteen more than second placed Wednesfield, who won 6-3 at home to Coseley and have a game in hand on the leaders.
In the women’s league, Halesowen went down for only the second time in six matches, losing heavily, 4-1 at home to Hednesford, who have played just four games and are undefeated three points adrift of Halesowen. Wednesfield are second on 15 points, they won 5-0 against Coseley.
