Selly Park, reigning champions of the Irish Centre Four a Side Ladies League, got the new campaign off to a good start by beating last season’s runners up, Northfield, 11-10. Joyce Webster with 4×100 and 105 was Northfields top player, but the star of the show must surely be Lesley Newcombe (Selly Park), who hit an amazing TEN scores of 100 plus 121.
Both of the other fixtures also finished 11-10, Sheldon and Ward End defeating, in turn Handsworth and Perry Barr.

With only three fixtures remaining in the Warwickshire Mens Super League, Coventry Howitzers look almost certainties to carry off the winner’s silverware. A 5-3 home win over Rugby gives them a total of 144 points, fifteen more than their nearest rivals Bedworth Bank’s who could only manage a 4-4 draw in their game at Birmingham Old Wharf. Birmingham Midland Red reduced the gap on Old Wharf to just one point as a result of their 7-1 success against Minworth.

Tipton, leaders of the West Midlands Men’s Super League, got off to a good start in their home game with Burntwood going 4-0 up through Dave Robbins, Martin Angell, Dave Pritchard and Colin Davies.
