The Forest of Arden Winter have played their second fixtures of the current campaign and for the second successive week B.Salter (Hunters Moon) has notched a maximum. Playing away to Red Arrows, Salter’s team went down 6-3, the same margin by which the beat Hobs Meadow Mixes the previous week. Reigning champions Hobs Meadow bounced back from their opening defeat at the hands of Red Arrows, to win 6-3 at the Greenwood with W.Mathews hitting a 180.

Brewer and Baker are the new Acocks Green Summer league champions. However it was not confirmed until the final game of the season in which they chalked up a 7-2 victory at home to the Plume of Feathers. Three teams were in contention for the title the other two being Shirley Legion and Tyseley W.M.C. who were playing each other. The result was a close 5-4 win for the Tyseley who at one stage had raced into a 4-1 lead. Both teams finished the season on 24 points, two less than the Brewer. Tyseley, with the better average took the runners up spot.

The Harborne and District Winter League got underway and the 1997 Premier division champions Cricketers got off to a flying start with a 6-3 home win against Hobsons Choice, aided by a nine darts leg from M.J.Collins. D.Hackett (Londonderry) recorded a 156 break in his teams 6-3 win at the Raven.
Beeches began their season in division one with a bang beating Golden Cup 9-0, while newly promoted Hillyfields ‘A’ opened their account with a 5-4 win at home to Avenue Social. Similarly, league newcomers Weoley Castle also won 5-4 in their game with the Brook. Bartley Green Social Club won the local derby against Bartley Green Social Flights 6-3.
In division two Travellers Rest and Highlander won 7-2 against respective opponents Vine and Highlander Ladies,

A 6-3 win over Lea Hall Legion maintained Shard End Social Club’s 100% record in the Premier division of the Sheldon and District Winter League. Just two points adrift of the leaders with three wins from four games are Sheldon Heath Social, Bradford Arms and E.B.A.H.A. Two teams remain undefeated in division one, Sheldon Heath Dukes, who have played four matches and Three Horseshoes who have played one less.
Close game in division two between Heathway and Kierans, with the former getting the 5-4 verdict. D.Harris had a 160 break for the winners while A.Clarke had a ten darts leg for the opposition.
With a perfect four wins in as many games, Hobs Meadow head division three, New Inners hot on their heels with six points from three games.

A 12-9 win over Handsworth sees Northfield in pole position, with 48 points, in the Irish Centre Four a Side Ladies League. Selly Park went down by a similar margin to Perry Barr. Nevertheless Selly Park are second in the table just two points behind the leaders.
Bottom of the table Ward End lost by the narrowest of margins, 11-10 to Sheldon, who on 37 points are four points better off than their victims.
