With divisions one, two and three of the UKDA National League having completed all of their fixtures the penultimate fixtures for the Cosmo Darts Premier Division and Andy Wheeler Fisheries Championship Division have been played off and in the Premier leaders Yorkshire, as a result of their narrow 19-17 victory at home against Lincolnshire have had their previous eight points lead over Lancashire reduced to just five points as Lancashire had a more comfortable 22-14 win playing away against Cornwall. Now with just one remaining game to play the title will go to one of the top two teams as third placed Essex are some twenty-four points short of second placed Lancashire and twenty-nine behind Yorkshire

At the other end of the table it is odds-on that Kent and Cheshire will be relegated to the Championship as tenth placed Staffordshire are twenty points to the good on next to bottom Kent and have twenty-nine points more than bottom of the table Cheshire.

Top average for the men’s ‘A’ matches went to Yorkshire’s Tony Darlow who in his straight 4-0 win over Lincolnshire’s Eddie Lovely chalked up a tremendous 33.40 average. Other players to record 30+ averages for their respective ‘A’ teams were Cheshire’s Patrick Lynskey (32.32), Cornwall’s Greg Hambly (30.83), Essex’s Keegan Brown (32.32), Hampshire’s Chas Barstow (30.83), Lincolnshire’s (Kev Leadenham (31.31), Staffordshire’s Steve Moss (31.84) and Warwickshire’s Jamie Atkins (31.28). For the men’s ‘B’ the top average went to Lancashire’s Tom Cromwell who had a 30.83 average closely followed by Lincolnshire’s Kev Clark who averaged 30.81. In the ladies ‘A’ games Glamorgan’s Eve Watson was in top form recording a superb 28.90 average while for the ‘B’ teams it was Kent’s Jess Shilling who was the top lady with a 20.31 average.

In the Championship Dorset held on to pole position but had their lead reduced from fourteen to six points as they suffered a huge shock to their title hopes when they lost 24-12 at home to Hertfordshire who prior to the latest fixtures were placed fifth in the table and some twenty-one points behind Dorset. The somewhat surprising win together with Cleveland’s 19-17 defeat away to Oxfordshire has seen Hertfordshire take over from Cleveland in second place with Cleveland dropping to fourth on 206 points now nine off the top. Cambridgeshire had a 20-16 win at Gwent to lift them one place in the table to third on 208 points and with only nine points the difference between the top five teams the title and promotion will go to the wire with everything all being decided on the results from the final fixtures. One very interesting final fixture will be that of third in the division Cambridgeshire hosting leaders Dorset while second placed Hertfordshire will have a home tie with Oxfordshire, fourth placed Cleveland will play at home against Northamptonshire and fifth in the table Humberside will also have a home game against Berkshire.

Bottom of the division Gwent with 160 points look doomed to relegation to division one while next to bottom Gwynedd with 172 are only five points behind the Devon the team just above them.

On the individual front Tavis Dudeney (Sussex) had the division’s top ‘A’ team average, his straight 4-0 win over Gwynedd’s Sion Wright giving him a fantastic 33.97 average. Six other players in the division average thirty or more and they were Scott Williams (Cambridgeshire, 30.83), Paul Milford (Devon, 32.32), Tommy Morris (Dorset, 32.75),  Deian Roberts (Gwynedd, 30.02), Dave Ladley (Humberside, 30.15) and Ricky Evans (Northamptonshire, 30.36). In the men’s ‘B’ games Dorset’s Owen Emmett-Bowden had the top average of 28.63. The ladies ‘A’ top average of 23.48 was shared by Northamptonshire’s Rebecca Rose and Oxfordshire’s Karen Williams while the ladies ‘B’ team’s top average of 19.64 went to Cambridgeshire’s Amanda Harwood.
