The South Birmingham Summer League have completed all of their domestic fixtures and winning the Group One title with 18 points from ten games was C’s Hot Shots who had a four points advantage over runners-up Centurion.

The Group Two title went to C’s Top Guns who finished the season with 15 points from eight games, just two to the good on their nearest rivals Coleshill Social.

With the league games out of the way cup semi-finals have been on the agenda and in the Rose Bowl there was a surprise for Group One champions C’s Hot Shots as they were beaten 4-3 by Centurion. In the other last four game C’s Top Guns took out Coleshill Social with a convincing 6-1 result.

Smithswood reached the final of the Edna Meek Memorial Cup with a 5-2 win over C’s Flights and meeting them in the final will be C’s Arrows who had a walkover against C’s Bullets.

Boldmere St Mike’s and The Boat continue their unbeaten runs in the Four Oaks and District Winter League, a 7-2 win against Bishop Vesey just keeping Boldmere top of the division one table with a two legs of average lead over Boat who with a 180 from their N.Clarke had a 6-3 win at Erdington Arrows. Golden Hind are just two points behind the leading duo after they won 7-2 against Walmley CSC Arrows. Fourth placed Pint Pot Flights lost 6-3 at Old Oscott Arrows despite their M.Bagnall hitting a maximum for the second week running, they are now four points off the top.

Red Lion maintain their 100% record at the top of the second division, two points clear of Walmley SCS Flights following their 6-3 win at Drakes Drum and Walmley’s 7-2 success over Rosey’s Chaps.

Rosey Mac’s Leopard and Oscott Social Club took their winning run to four games in division three in turn winning 8-1 against The Black Signets and 5-4 at Boldmere Tap. Deer’s Leap opened up a 3-1 lead against The Towers, but it was The Towers who got the final 5-4 result leaving Deer’s Leap at the foot of the division.

A 5-2 home win over North Star took leaders of the Camp Hill League Emerald Club’s points to 12 from 7 games and keeps them two ahead of both Roost Rebels and White Swan Nomads who both have a game in hand on Emerald. Roost Rebels had a vital 4-3 win over Tyseley WMC who drop from third to fourth in the table with Rebels replacing them in third place, while White Swan Nomads had their fixture with Sheldon Marlborough Flights cancelled.

Sedgemere Devil’s Club moved up one place from next to bottom with a fine 4-3 win over Wagon and Horses, both teams now on 4 points.

Week six in the Premier Division of the Sheldon and District Winter League saw leaders Highwood Gerry’s Boys lose for the first time in the five games they have played when they went down 5-4 away to Dunky’s Boys. Dunky’s move up into third place with six points, two short of their opponents but with a game in hand.

In Division One there was a first win for Maggies as they handed out a first defeat to second in the division Lyndon Old Boys, Maggies winning 6-3. Leaders of the division Hornet won 5-4 at Crown-Forget-Me-Not and although they have played one game more than the Old Boys now have a four points lead.

Holy Souls are the only unbeaten team in Division Two their latest 6-3 win over CCC’s keeping them two points ahead of Meadway Sports and Social who won 7-2 at Small Heath Gardeners.

The league have been active with the quarter finals of their Divisional League Cups and winning through to the semis in the Premier were Langley Arrows, Dunky’s Boys, Highwood Gerry’s Boys and Sheldon Marlborough Arrows. Winners in Division One were Hornet, Maggies, The Dingle and Yardley Ex Colts while making the last four in Division Two were Inn on the Green, Small Heath Gardeners and Sheldon Marlborough Ridge.

Brickmakers Arms consolidated their pole position in the Stourbridge and District Monday Night League when they handed their visitors Fox Inn (Lye) a 9-0 whitewash. The win keeps Brickmakers four points to the good on second in the table Britannia who won 7-2 at Church Tavern.

There was a shock result for Glasscutters as they lost their home tie with third in the league Ten Arches by a massive 8-1 which sees them drop two places in the table to seventh.

The Small Heath League have played off their Doubles Knockout and clinching the title with a final 2-1 success over D.Shakespeare and M.Turner (Cob’s Bar) were the East Birmingham Allotment Holders Association duo M.Cooper and N.Parsonage.

In the semi-finals Cooper and Parsonage had a straight 2-0 win over C.Austin and M.Cain (Heartlands Club) while Shakespeare and Turner had a closer 2-1 result against D.Bond and B.Lysaght once again representing Heartlands Club.

With the league having a break from domestic fixtures the Netheerton Thursday Night League staged the finals of their 3 A-Side Knockout. The two semis finished with 2-0 scorelines with Rich Lenton, Matt Hadley and Will Cairns (Townsend Social Club) winning against Steve Siviter, Wayne Humphries and Dave Shilvock (Fairfield) and Bobby Carr, Phil Tonks and Anthony Tonks (Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club) taking out Simon Purcell, Amar Ghaley and Stan Jones (Riddins Tavern). As in the last four games the final was also won in straight legs as Bobby Carr, Phil Tonks and Anthony Tonks defeated Rich Lenton, Matt Hadley and Will Cairns 3-0.

Despite already having won the Rowley Monday Night League title there was no let up by champions Bell as in their penultimate fixture they handed out a 9-0 whitewash to their visiting team bottom of the table Wonder with E,Price notching a maximum for the winners and team mate P.Bishop recording a 160 break. The battle for the runners-up spot continues into the final game of the season as second placed George won 6-3 against Fairfield and third in the table Cradley Sports and Social Club, who are on the same 50 points as George won 7-2 at Hare and Hounds.

There was a seventh win in 29 for Loyal Lodge as they moved up one place from second from bottom when they somewhat surprisingly won their home tie against sixth in the table Ivy Bush 5-4.

With just three more fixtures to play in the Brierley Hill Monday Night League leaders Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club ‘A have one hand on the winner’s trophy after they won 6-3 against Bull and Bladder and their nearest rivals, second in the table Roebuck lost 7-2 at home to Dudley Sports ‘A’ who are fourteenth in the table and a massive 34 points behind their opponents. The Ex Serviceman’s Club now have a four points plus a massive average lead.

There was something of an upset in the Silver End Sunday Morning League as leaders Woodside ‘A’ for only the third time in 22 games lost. Playing away against sixth placed Brickmakers Arms ‘A’ the top team returned on the wrong side of the 5-3 result, however it was only a minor setback as they still enjoy a five points lead over second in the table Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club who were unable to take full advantage of Woodside’s defeat as they were held to a 4-4 draw by their hosts Glasscutters ‘A’ who are fourth in the league.

Glasscutters ‘B’ are placed third, their 6-2 win at Kings Head ‘B’ putting them on 49 points, just one behind the Ex Serviceman’s Club and six adrift of Woodside ‘A’ but with two games in hand on both teams.

The top three teams in the Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night League all won 5-2 in week 27 so there is no change at the top of the table with leaders Vine winning away to sixth in the table Island Inn, second placed Tipton Sports beating Horseley Tavern and third in the league Dewdrop ‘A’ winning at New Talbot.

With two more games to play Vine, who are on 50 points have a two points lead on Tipton Sports who have played one game more than them, Sports are then eight points ahead of Dewdrop ‘A’, Dewdrop like Vine having a game in hand on Sports.

The Cradley Tuesday Night League played off their 5 A-Side Knockout with the Netherton Sports and Social Club ‘A’ side of Carl Davies, Steven Tipper, Jason Southall, Greig Billingham and Keith Morris winning the final against Wheatsheaf.

Losing in the semi-finals were league champions Brickmakers Arms and Plough.

With the Chainyards versus Old Bulls Head being a late result in the Sedgley and Gornal Tuesday Night League Old Bulls Head have for the time being been replaced at the top of the table by Lamp Tavern and drop to third in the table. Lamp Tavern extended their unbeaten run with a 5-4 win at White Lion and by the same 5-4 margin third placed Netherton Cricket Club, who like Lamp Tavern have won all of their seven games, won at Gornal Labour Club.

With Lamp and the Cricket Club both on an unbeaten 14 points and Old Bulls Head on 12 with a game in hand there is then a four points gap with Gornal Labour Club, Gornal British Legion and New Inn all on eight points.

Wilson Hall lead the Stourbridge and District Wednesday Night League and in game number seven they increased their lead to four points when they won 6-1 at home against Gigmill and their nearest rivals Swan ‘A’ lost 5-2 at home to Ashwood ‘B’, Swan ‘A’ dropping from second to fourth while their victors move up one place to third. Although they had a bye Bird (Wordsley) have moved up one place to second as they are on the same ten points as Ashwood ‘B’, Swan ‘A’, Ten Arches ‘B’ and Brickmakers Arms but have the better average, Bird, Swan and Ten Arches have all only played six games.

Belgrave Sports and Social Club not only added to their points tally but also their average lead in the Pip Club League when they won 8-1 against Dolphin Wanderers. A somewhat surprising result, not the actual win but the margin by which Belgrave beat Dolphin as prior to the fixture they were second to Belgrave Sports and Social Club in the Combined Division having won all of their four games, Birchmoor Club have now taken over the number two spot in the division, their similar 8-1 win over Pip Club giving them the same eight points as the Wanderers but with a better average and leaving both team two points short of the leaders.

Dunky’s Boys made it 22 wins from 23 games in the Shirley and District Monday Night League when they won 7-2 at Cider House to put them on 44 points. Second in the table Highwood are on the same 44 points as Dunky’s but from 24 games after they added a vital 6-3 win away to The Lion who are third in the league and now four points behind the top two with a game in hand. J.Buckingham hit a maximum for Highwood.

Leader of the Ashwood Premier League Connor Pickett added three more wins to his account when in week fourteen he won 4-3 against second in the table Chris Williams, 7-0 against Stuart Aitkens and rounded off the evening with another 4-3 win, this time against Richard Bowen. Pickett now sits at the top of the table on 189 points from 31 games and Chris Williams, who despite his loss to Pickett chalked up 5-2 wins over Richard Bowen and Sam Aitkens (who is fourth in the league), plus a 6-1 win against Mike Cullis giving him 182 points from 33 games.

Former leader Nick Fullwell is currently third on 167 points, however he has only played 24 games and although he trails Pickett by some 22 points he could net a possible 56 points from his seven games in hand.
