In division one of the BDO Inter County Championships West Midlands are riding high as after their opening day 22-14 home win over Cambridgeshire they followed up with a similar 22-14 win away to local rivals Staffordshire.

Saturday’s fixtures saw the ladies ‘B’ win 4-2 their top player being Heather Wright with an 18.11 average. The men’s ‘B’ finished all square at six each with Shane Price taking the match award for his top average of 29.14.

Sunday’s games saw the ladies ‘A’ emulate the ladies ‘B’ 4-2 result with Sarah Roberts the lady of the match with a tremendous 26.84 average beating Anne Allsop 3-0 in 19,17 and 20 darts. The men’s ‘A’ team made it two successive 8-4 victories with Scott Baker their award winner for his 29.47 average.

The fine start to the new season and the latest win has increased West Midlands lead at the top of the divisional promotion table to ten points they are on 50 with second placed Dorset having 40.
