Shirley and District Monday Night League had a break in the domestic fixtures to stage their Season 10 Singles Knockout which attracted 54 entries and with a maximum plus an eleven darts leg it was Lee Harris (Saracens Jesters) who defeated Steve Sidwell (Dunky’s Boys) in what was a very close final to secure the title.
The quarter finals saw wins for Harris and Sidwell in turn against Peter Healy and Jordan Ottley then in the last four games Harris beat one of the favourites to take the title Bob Nixon while Sidwell took out James Hinkley

The C’s Club Double Top Wednesday Night League played off both their doubles and 3 A-Side knockouts and winning the former were Bob Nixon and Melissa Beale who with a 2-1 result accounted for Tom White and Lee Walker in the final. Both of the semi-finals also finished with close 2-1 scorelines the champions beating Richard Mills and Dan Cooper while White and Walker won against Chris Cooke and Mitchell Mann.

The final of the 3 A-Side saw husband and wife Dave Kingdon and Sue Kingdon line up against each other and it was Sue with her team mates Terry Webster and Dan Cooper who won 3-1 against Dave, Mick Noonan and Connor Marshall.

The Wagon and Horses was the setting for the Camp Hill League’s singles knockout finals. In the semi-finals Mark Turner of the Station Wagon was taken out by Roost Rebels man Mick Tilley and in what was the best game of the night, with three ton plus scores each Dan Lee of the White Swan Nomads lost to James Hinkley (Tyseley WMC). Although Hinkley recorded another three tons in the final it was Mick Tilley who lifted the silverware in what was a very close affair.
Just one maximum was hit on the night and that was by Liam Fox (Emerald Club).
In the finals of the Captains and Secretaries Knockouts, Sheldon Marlborough Flights man Matt Cooper swept aside all of the opposition to win the captains beating Mick O’Sullivan (Roost Rebels) in the final. Losing semi-finalists were Pete Freeman (Wagon and Horses) and Liam Fox (Emerald Club).
The final of the Secretaries Knockout saw another Roost Rebels player lose as Alan Cheshire lost out to Pete Yardley (New Inn). Joe Fox (Emerald Club) and Mark Coles (Station Wagon) made their exits in the last four.

Congratulations to ECC Sports and Social Club representative Michael Baker who at Gilberts Bar, Willenhall won the West Midlands play-off for the World Professional Qualifiers. Baker will now go forward into the final qualifiers at the Grays Civic Hall, Blackshots Lane, Grays, RM16 2JU on 28th October.

The Small Heath League has played off two of their competitions the Singles Knockout and the John Young Plate Knockout. There was an encouraging thirty three entries to the singles event with the title eventually going to a man that has collected a numerous amount of winners titles from local leagues Neil Parsonage who with a maximum and a seven darts leg beat Nigel Davis 2-0 in the final.
The semi-finals saw Parsonage win 2-1 against M.Turner (Cob’s Bar) and Davis win 2-0 against S.McCormack (Heartlands Club) to set up an all East Birmingham Allotment Holders Association final.
The last four games of the John Young Plate saw 2-0 wins for Ian Genge (Sheldon Marlborough Flights) and Pete Hopkins (Emerald Club) who in turn defeated A.Colley and Julie McGuigan. The final was another straight 2-0 result with Hopkins the winner and Genge runner-up.

Golden Hind ended their season in division one of the Sutton and District Summer League with a 7-2 win at Boldmere Tap and as champions finished the campaign with a total of 22 points four more than runners-up Boldmere St Mike’s who were also 7-2 winners in their home fixture against Erdington Arrows. Despite their defeat Erdington Arrows won the division one Shadow League title, their four points and superior average seeing them just get the edge on Oscott Social who also finished on four points.
In the second division champions Walmley Darts Club rounded off their campaign with a close 5-4 win away to Bishop Vesey who with sixteen points finished level on points and average with second in the table Old Oscott Arrows whose final game saw them win 5-4 at Oscott Sports. Although Oscott Sports finished next to bottom of division two they had some consolation in that they won the divisional Shadow League with a total of six points, Boot Inn were also on six points but lost out by the narrowest of margins, just one leg of average.
The division three title had been decided some time ago and was the closest in the league as only average separated winners Castle Vale Residents and runners-up Digby Chuckers both teams finishing on 18 points.
With all of the domestic fixtures completed the league has been winding down their season and next on the fixture card was the Jubilee 5 A-Side Cup finals. In the semi-finals, both of which finished with a 3-1 result, there were wins for Golden Hind ‘B’ and Magic Mike’s (Boldmere St Mike’s) who in turn defeated Red Lion ‘B’ and Golden Hind Wizards.
The final saw Magic Mike’s team clinch the title when they handed out a straight 3-0 defeat to Golden Hind ‘B’.

The Netherton Thursday Night League has played off the finals of their Singles Knockout, three of the four quarter final games finished with clear-cut 2-0 results as Joe Sharratt (RiddinsTavern), Bob Carr (Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club) and Amar Ghaley (Riddins Tavern) in turn accounted for Ian Golding (Bulls Head), Darren Brown (Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club) and Scott Fellows (Bulls Head). The last of the games saw Brian Neale (Riddins Tavern) beat Phil Tonks (Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club) 2-1.
With three of the last four representing Riddins Tavern it looked a fair bet the title would go to Riddins but obviously two of them would have to play each other in the semi-finals and those two were Joe Sharratt and Brian Neale with Sharratt running out the narrow 2-1 winner.
As the only none Riddins Tavern player Bob Carr took out the third Riddins player Amar Ghaley in two straight legs.
The final was extended to the best of five legs and against what appeared in the semis that the title would go to a Riddins Tavern player it was Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club representative Bob Carr with a 3-1 result that defeated Joe Sharratt despite Sharratt going 1-0 up in 15 darts as Carr reversed the advantage in 18 and 17 darts before he went on to clinch the title in the fourth leg.
League secretary Ron Nicholson described the finals as the best he had witnessed in all the time he had been running the league. He went on to say both Bob Carr and Joe Sharratt were excellent throughout the night

Another league to have completed the week to week fixtures is the Stourbridge and District Wednesday Night league and since the final league table has been produced they have been involved in cup finals with all of the honours going to Ashwood ‘A’ who finished the season third in the table level on 70 points with their ‘B’ side who were runners-up and just two points short of champions Swan.
In the League Cup Ashwood ‘A’ won 5-0 against Wombourne Cricket Club and they then won the Shadow Cup 5-2 with Brickmakers Arms ‘A’ the runners-up.
The MVP Knockout saw Andy Vellender take the title with a final 4-1 win over Chris Williams. Vellender had a narrow 3-2 victory against Chris Fox in the semi-finals while Williams had a clear cut 3-0 win over A.Smith.

In the final of the Silver End Sunday Morning League’s Mick Kelly Knockout P.Homer fought off all of the opposition to reach the final and then took the title with a 5-2 win over B.Davies. Homer won his quarter final game against A.Tonks 3-2 before booking his final spot with a 4-2 result over G.Davies in the last four. Runner–up Davies took out A.Hill 3-0 in the quarter finals then R.Colley 4-3 in the semis.

There were straight 2-0 results for both of the semi-finals in the Brierley Hill Friday Night League’s singles knockout with W.Page and R.Powers in turn defeating J.Barrowman and J.Ward.
The final was a very close affair going to the fifth and final leg before Powers claimed the title with a 3-2 result over Page.
In the last eight play-off’s of the doubles knockout there were 2-0 wins for J.Churchill & C.Davies, J.Batham & C.Penzer and R.Colley & R.Powers who in turn defeated M.Flatman & J.Barrowman, A.Turley & S.Blewitt and S.Skidmore & J.Glazzard, while B.Weatherall & A.Bedford beat G.Jackson & A.Smith 2-1.
In the semi-finals Batham and Penzer repeated their 2-0 success against Weatherall and Bedford to book their place in the final where they would faced Colley and Powers who although taken to a deciding leg by Churchill and Davies in their last four game won 2-1.
With the final extended to the best of five legs it was Colley and Powers who won 3-1 against Batham and Penzer to take the title.

There was a shock for Bombay Bob’s Boys in the Pip Club League when in the final fixture of the season they actually lost, their first and only defeat in twenty six fixtures. Playing away against third in the table Birchmoor Club Bombay went down 5-4, nevertheless they won the Combined League with 50 points three more than their second placed rivals Belgrave Sports and Social Club who handed their visitors Progressive Club a 9-0 whitewash.
Bombay also won the Seeded One division title with 26 points again with a three point’s advantage over runners-up Belgrave Sports and Social Club. Globe (Wilnecote) were the winners of the Seeded Two division and with 18 points they had a four more than their nearest rivals Pip Club.

The Royal, Albrighton staged the latest of their increasingly popular knockouts and clinching the title and top prize of £190 was Justin Evans from Darlaston who won the final 6-2 against Dudley’s Chris Fox who collected £90. Evans beat Antony Dent (Burntwood) in the semis and Fox took out Nik Bloor (Telford), both losing semi-finalists received £30.
In the first round losers Plate Competition Robert Pierce claimed the £45 top prize with a win over John Simms who for his troubles picked up £20.

The South Birmingham League have completed their Captains, Secretaries and Mixed Doubles knockouts, first the Captains in which Charlie Kingdon had a 2-0 win over Louise Beale in the semis and Chris Cooke won by a much closer 2-1 against Paul Moran. Cooke then went on to secure the title with a straight 2-0 victory over Kingdon in the final.

There were straight 2-0 wins for Dave Clinton and Gavin Jones in the semi-finals of the Secretaries knockout, the final also had a 2-0 scoreline which went to Dave Clinton to give him the title and Gavin Jones finish as runner-up.

The last four games of the mixed doubles saw mother and daughter Sue and Charlie Kingdon square up to each other, Sue with partner Simon Edwards and Charlie pairing with Dan Stone. The game went the full three legs distance with Sue and Simon the winners. From the other half of the draw Sue’s husband and Charlie’s dad Dave emerged with his partner Rhian Carey who made their exit with a close 2-1 defeat to the daughter and father pairing Melissa Beale and Steve Beale.
The winners were Simon Edwards and Sue Kingdon who had a final 2-0 win against Melissa and Steve Beale.
