The Four Oaks and District League have been engaged in the preliminary round of their Coronation Shield which saw current division one leaders Boldmere St Mikes record a comfortable 11-4 win away to fellow division one team Walmsley CSC Flights. However Boldmere were not the biggest winners of the round as Old Oscott Arrows (division one) chalked up a massive 14-1 win away to St Thomas Arrows (division two).

First division contenders Red Lion won 9-6 at home against Highcroft Social who, placed fourth are just two places below them in the league table and on the same six points. Two local division one rivals squared up to each other Golden Hind Lions and Golden Hind with the latter winning 11-4.

Erdington Arrows (division one) were taken to the wire by Deer’s Leap (division two) as they ran out close 8-7 winners in the final game.

Only three second division teams survived the first round Charley’s Flights beat Sutton Sharks 12-3, division two leaders Heartlands won by the same 12-3 margin against Erdington Flyers and despite a valiant effort from Bills Arrows, including two 180’s, they lost 9-6 to fellow division two side Plough and Arrows.

Other teams to win through to the next round were Oscott Social Club and Pint Pot Flights.

There were five 180’s hit in the round and were supplied by, J.Burdett (Charley’s Flights), R.Batham (Deers Leap), S.Cain (Heartlands), J.Averill and G.Averill from Bills Arrows.

Rubery Legion suffered their first loss in five and their first of the season in the Kings Norton League when they finished on the wrong side of a close 4-3 result away to Northfield. Rubery drop from second to fourth in the table, two points off the top while Northfield remain in fifth place on six points from four games.

League leaders Copper Fox extended their unbeaten run to five games with a convincing 6-1 win at Kings Heath and hold a two point’s lead on second in the table E57 who besides Copper Fox are the only other undefeated team in the league. E57 have taken over the number two spot on average from Rubery Legion with their latest 7-0 thrashing of bottom placed Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s. E57 have a game in hand on Copper Fox.

Thurlestone are third in the league on the same eight points as the teams above and below them in turn E57 and Rubery Legion, they won their home fixture against Grant Arms 5-2.

Game number five produced a first win for Rubery Social, a 5-2 success at Toby Jug to see them move off the foot of the table and up two places.

With nine fixtures completed in the Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night League only one leg of average separates the top two teams. The Vine remain in pole position after their close 4-3 win away to Miners Arms, who as a result drop from fourth to sixth in the table. Dewdrop have replaced Waggon and Horses in second place following their 6-1 home win over next to bottom Albion and the loss suffered by former second placed Waggon and Horses who went down 4-3 at home to fifth in the league Hayes Social.

Both of the leagues bottom two teams lost 6-1 as the basement team Tamebridge emulated Albion when they lost at home to Horseley Tavern.

White Horse have taken over the bye in the Stourbridge Wednesday Night League but their campaign didn’t have the best of starts as they went down 5-2 at home against top of the table Bird in Hand ‘E’. Glasscutters ‘A’ keep in touch with the leaders, they have played one game fewer than Bird in Hand ‘E’ but a 5-2 win at Fox Inn (Lye) keeps them within two points of them.

Bird in Hand ‘A’ surrendered their second place after losing by a massive 7-0 scoreline at home to Ten Arches ‘A’ who move up two places to third, four points off the top.

There was a first win in four for Ashwood as they beat Glasscutters ‘B’ 6-1, who without a win so far drop to the foot of the table on average from newcomers White Horse.

On Saturday 20th November a fundraising event will be staged at the Weoley Castle Pub, Somerford Road, Weoley Castle, Birmingham B29 5LX. Starting at 11.00am, a twelve hours darts marathon will go on until 11.00pm in an effort to raise funds to go towards alterations needed to help Caroline Harding when she returns home after having suffered complications during a recent operation.

Throughout the marathon there will be a disco, raffles and a pool competition, everyone is welcome to go along and join in.

The Camp Hill League recently held their presentation night for the 2019 season, obviously delayed because of the COVID-19 situation. Highlights of the evening were the presentation to league winners White Swan Nomads, League Cup winners Roost Rebels and a special presentation to Neil Parsonage for his superb perfect SIX darts game of 301.

Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club held on to their number one spot in the Netherton Thursday Night League as both of the top two teams won 7-2. The Ex Serviceman’s Club had a home tie with bottom placed Netherton Conservative Club while second placed Bulls Head stayed within three points of them with their home victory over Spring Meadow Social Club. Bulls Head in turn are a further three points to the good on third in the table Townsend Social Club, who like the two teams above them also had a home draw as they defeated Netherton Sports and Social Club 6-3.

It’s as you were for the top five teams in the Sedgley and Gornal Tuesday Night League with only fourth placed Seven Stars losing. Playing at home Seven Stars entertained Lamp Tavern who walked away with the points for their 5-4 victory lifting them three places in the table to seventh, while their hosts remained fourth but are now six points adrift of leaders Old Bulls Head who took their unbeaten run to nine games with a 6-3 home win over Chainyard.

New Inn are the nearest threat to the leaders, their close 5-4 home success against Five Ways keeping them within two points of Old Bulls Head.

Glasscutters ‘A’, Quarry Bank Liberal Club and Lion are the only undefeated teams in the Stourbridge Monday Night League but they have all played a different amount of games. Glasscutters ‘A’ added a 4-3 win at Church Tavern to their account to keep them in pole position having played all four games so far while Quarry Bank Liberal Club have only played two games and are fourth in the table following their latest 5-2 home win over Fox Inn (Lye). Lion, who had a bye this week have also only played two games and are currently lying in an eighth position but wins in their outstanding games would see both the Liberal Club and Lion join the leaders on eight points.

Second and third in the table Gate Hangs Well and Ten Arches are both two points off the top, the former handing out a 7-0 whitewash to their visiting team Hare and Hounds while Ten Arches suffered their first defeat of the season when they lost 4-3 away to Britannia who are six places below them in the table with only two points fewer.

With fixtures now fast running out in the Gilbert’s Bar Monday Night League Steve Jones continues to lead the field with 197 points from 24 games. Ben Johnson has moved up into second place after he added 7-1 wins against both Simon Pritchard and Lee Quarry to give him a total of 195 points from 25 games. Third in the table Steve Lynch is just a further three points behind Johnson but he has completed 26 games.

There were convincing wins for the leaders of both divisions one and two in game number six of the Shirley and District Monday Night League as the division one leaders Dunky’s Boys beat Saracens Swords 8-1 and Highwood, top of division two handed out a 9-0 whitewash to their opponents, bottom of the division Saracens Slingers.

Dunky’s lead on average from both Tippetts Bar and Lodge, Tippetts won 7-2 against Saracens Misfits and with 180’s from M.O’Sullivan and J.Hinkley Lodge had a 5-4 win over Bears.

In the basement fixture, Cider House, who are bottom of the top division chalked up their second win in six as they beat the team directly above them Wharf 5-4 but still remain two points behind their opponents.

Highwood have a two points lead at the top of the second division as Vikings, who were their nearest rivals lost their home tie with Wythall Legion 7-2 and drop to fourth in the table level on eight points with both second placed Wythall Legion and third in the table HSCC who won 6-3 at Legion Royals.
