In the latest round of fixtures in the ECC Sports and Social Thursday Night Champions League Chris Fox chalked up a 6-1 win over Rob Montana and although he then lost his next game against Sam Aitkens 4-3 it was enough to put him top of the table on 103 points from 24 games. Currently another Chris, Chris Williams is the nearest rival to Fox his 7-0 success over Gemma Barrett like Fox was followed with a defeat, a huge 6-1 loss to reigning champion Mick Baker leaving Williams four points behind Fox with two games in hand.

Mick Baker is eighth in the table on 63 points forty short of Fox but he has a massive ten games in hand which could net him a total of 70 points, so at this stage the title is still up for grabs for a number of players.

Thomas Bent may have been absent for this week’s fixtures in the Shirley Premier League but nevertheless he had amassed enough points to keep him in pole position no matter what. Bent’s ten points lead however was reduced to just three as John Smyth beat Ken Hopton 3-1 and Steve Harper 4-0 to take his tally to 77 points from 28 games, three more games than Bent.

Gary Cleverley is third on 70 points from 27 games after a 2-2 draw with Antony Daly and a 3-1 win against Lee Holtham.

A number of players have quite a few games in hand and wins in those games could see them move up the table and actually challenge the top three players.
