This is becoming a yearly event but nevertheless once again congratulations to West Midlands county player Mick Baker who for an amazing fourth season has won the Winmau Centre Thursday Night Champions League title.

With two rearranged fixtures still to play Baker has 136 points and a seven point’s lead over second placed Tony Randell who in his first season in the league is going to take the runners up spot, although for a long period in the season he held pole position in the table, any hopes he had of becoming champion disappeared in the last two games as after he won 5-2 against Rob Harris he then surprisingly lost 4-3 to Ashok Sehdev who is in the bottom five players and some 57 points behind him.

So a fourth consecutive title for Baker plus a further year’s sponsorship from Winmau, is anyone going to stop his winning run? Could it be you? Make sure to register for the forthcoming season to make sure you’re in with not only a chance of a top cash payout but also the Winmau twelve months sponsorship deal that goes with it.

The centre have got their new Monday Night League season underway and at the time of going to print three fixtures have been completed, leading the field with 105 points is last season’s runners up and a former winner of the league The Untouchables, while currently in second place on 98 points is reigning champions Misfits, however there is a long way to go and there will surely be lots of surprises throughout the season.
