With only one fixture remaining in the Sheldon and District Winter League two of the three league titles are still up for grabs. In the premier division the latest fixtures saw Crown at Olton lose pole position after going down 5-4 at home to their nearest rivals The Lyndon who have replaced them in the number one spot. Lyndon are now on 34 points from 19 games while Crown at Olton have 32 points from the same number of games but with a better average. According to form both teams should win their final games as Lyndon play away to fourth from bottom Langley Hall Sports and Social Arrows and Crown will play at home against George V who are next to bottom.

In division one the top two teams Castle Vale Stadium and Banbury Club are both on 28 points from 16 games, Castle Vale have a home fixture against Highwood KB’s who are placed fifth in the table while Banbury have the tougher task as they take on Marston Green Tavern who are third in the table.

In division two Crown-Forget-Me-Not are already crowned champions as they have 34 points four more than their nearest rivals Sheldon Marlborough Flights who took over the number two spot from The Maggies after beating them 5-4 in their latest fixture.

It’s close at the top of the Cradley Tuesday Night League with only two points separating the top five teams. White Horse suffered a shock home defeat in the latest round of games as they went down 6-3 at home to sixth placed Members Club ‘A’ and as a result have been ousted from their top position and drop to second behind Crown ‘A’ who won 7-2 at home to Roost ‘A’, however White Horse only trail on average as they are on the same 24 points as Crown ‘A’, then come three teams on 22 Brickmakers Arms, The Gate and Crown ‘B’ but both Brickmakers and Gate have played one game more than the two Crown teams and White Horse.

Sam Hamilton was the winner of the first in a new series of knockouts at the Winmau Darts Centre, Wolverhampton taking the title with a 6-3 win over Mick Baker.

The final was a fine example of top quality darts with not one single leg going beyond 18 darts, and included a 13 darts leg, plus chances of 10, 11 and 12 darts legs by both players, Hamilton also produced a top class 158 checkout.

Mick Baker had a convincing 5-0 win in the semi’s over Dave Neal while Hamilton had a much closer 5-4 verdict against Kristian Wharton in a nail biting nine legs thriller.

With Will Naylor not playing this week in the Kingstanding Double Top League he has dropped down from the number one spot to fourth place, Chris Packer with 4-1 wins over Adam Gallett and John Morris jnr has replaced Naylor at the top of the table with a total of 16 points from nine games. Second and third placed Pat Koyce and Barry Stephens are both just one point behind Packer, Stephens having played ten games one more than the two above him.

Dewdrop, leaders of the Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night League strengthened their position this week handing out a 7-0 whitewash to their visitors Horseley Tavern who are rooted firmly at the other end of the table without a point from eleven games.

Although Dewdrop look comfortable with 24 points and a lead of six on second placed Old Hop Pole. Old Hop Pole have three games in hand on the leaders however should they win all three 7-0 they would still trail Dewdrop on average.

The Camp Hill League have played off their Doubles Knockout and claiming the title with a final win over Simon Edwards and Steve Whatmore (Journeys End) were Matt Cooper and Neil Parsonage representing the league leaders Cotterills Lane Club.

Losing semi finalists were Martin Hogan and Peter Yardley (Haymills Social) and Dave Logan and Mark Richards (Scruffy Ringers).

With the domestic fixtures already completed the Small Heath League were involved in cup finals and first was the Aggregate Knockout which was a competition between the top players from seven league teams. The semi finals saw Con Murphy (Wagon and Horses) beat Paul Webster (Emerald Flights) and Ashley Lattimer (Cobs Bar) take out Ian Jones (Mitre).

The final went the full three legs distance with Murphy winning what was a very close 2-1 game.

The League Doubles attracted an encouraging 27 pairs, Neil Parsonage and Ray Fisher looking to make it to yet another final but their plans came unstuck as they went out 2-1 to Tom Humphries and John Phipps. The second of the last four encounters was an all Mitre affair Paul Brown and Simon Hughes getting the better of their team mates John Frost and Alex Downes with another 2-1 result.

The final yet again went to a deciding leg with Frost and Downes just getting the edge on Humphries and Phipps to win 2-1.

Miners (Wollescote) have been knocked off their perch at the top of the Brierley Hill Friday Night League after losing 6-3 away to fifth in the table Roebuck, taking over the number one spot is Brickmakers Arms who had a similar 6-3 win at Bulls Head, Netherton. Despite moving to the top of the table Brickmakers only lead Miners on average as both teams are on 22 points and are closely followed by Pensnett Welfare Club on 20 after their 9-0 win at Mitre.

After playing ten games Cubbington ‘B’ lead the Warwickshire Ladies Super League with 18 points, they have a two points advantage over second placed Bishopsgate plus a game in hand. After the leading two teams comes a gap of eight points with Hollybush and Nuneaton both on 8 points, Leamington Ladies are a further two points adrift with six points.

It was a case of top playing against bottom in the Halesowen Friday Night League when leaders Members Club ‘A’ hosted their local rivals Members Club ‘B’, the result an emphatic 7-0 win for the ‘A’ team to keep them two points ahead of the rest of the field. Second placed Chop House had a much closer 4-3 win away to Townsend, while third placed The Vine won their home game with Ex Serviceman’s 7-0 to leave them two points behind Chop House with a game in hand and a superior average.

The Stourbridge and District Wednesday Night League have got their 2015 season underway and the early leaders are Ten Arches ‘B’ who had a 7-0 win over their local rivals Ten Arches ‘A’, to put the ‘A’ team top and the ‘B’ team bottom of the table.

Three teams are close behind the leaders with5-2 wins and they are newcomers Gornal Conservative Club, The Bell and The Fox (Lye).

Just two games played in division one of the Pip Club League which saw Prince of Wales hand out an 8-0 whitewash to their hosts Two Gates Club to lift P.O.W. into third place in the table. Four points ahead of Prince of Wales is second in the table Bulls Head ‘A’ (Polesworth) who moved to within one point of leaders Birchmoor Club with a 6-2 win at Tamworth Motor Spares.

Division two leaders J W Belgrave were surprisingly held to an 8-8 draw at Globe ‘A’ who are in fourth place and 14 points behind the leaders. Pip Club reduced the arrears on the leaders with a 10-6 win at Old Liberal and now trail by seven points.

Played ten, won ten that’s the record of Kevin Lane in the Winmau Darts Centre Thursday Night Champions League at Wolverhampton Sports Arena. Kevin’s 100% record has taken his points tally to 58 and given him a slender two points advantage over second in the table Mick O’Neil who has lost just one of his ten games. Anthony West has also only lost one game and he is a further four points adrift of O’Neil.

The top four teams in division one of the Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League all came up trumps in week ten, leaders ECC had a 6-1 home win over Merry Boys to give them a total of 18 points and keep them two points ahead of second placed Wednesfield F.C. who also won 6-1 in their game at Otter and Vixen. Third placed Victoria went one better than the two above them with a 7-0 success at Ashmore Inn putting them on the same 16 points as Wednesfield F.C. while fourth in the table Bradmore ‘B’ won 5-2 at Rileys ‘D’.

No change in division two as the top seven teams all won this week, eighth placed Emerald the only losers in the top half lost 4-3 at home to leaders Pheasant.

Rileys ‘B’ dropped two places to fifth in the Tettenhall Wednesday Night League following their 5-2 home defeat at the hands of the Woodfield Social team who move up one place to seventh.

The top two teams Rileys ‘A’ and Otter and Vixen had respective wins over Brewood British Legion and Jones to Road to remain locked together on 20 points, Rileys ’A’ leading on average only.

Riley’s Sports Bar, Solihull was the setting for a “Pub Players – Competition” and winner of the main competition was Mike McFall, Mike took out Brendan Lysaght with a straight 4-0 scoreline in the semi’s, while from the other half of the draw Rob Singleton had a closer 4-2 win over Luis Barberan.

The final went the full nine legs distance with McFall just getting the edge on Singleton.

In the Plate Competition winners from the last four were Matt Speakman and Pat Koyce, both of them winning 2-1 against respective opponents Josh Barton and Simon Witherford. Like the semi’s the final also went to a deciding leg with Pat Koyce beating Matt Speakman 3-2.
