Ripley Elite Darts Singles League

What an opening to the first week of the Ripley Elite Darts Singles League’s summer season Andy Gillott rattled in a fantastic 170 finish with the last three darts of the evening, 16 maximum scores of 180 and plenty of upsets in both divisions. Plenty of potential players of the week in the first division Dave Slater had a fantastic night winning both of his games after he finished bottom last season recording just one win in his 20 games. Paul Hodges had two steady games and new boys Ian Clarke and Dean Lawrence both recording opening night wins.

In the premier league Legend Jim Beardmore upset the form book and most people’s prediction sheets with a 5-0 whitewash over Gary Fenn, while newly promoted Keith Cooper smashed the winter season’s champion Daz Brown 4-1 but week one player of the night had to go to Ash Bash Spencer who beat Mick Chapman with a close 3-2 win in his first game then edged out the likeable Aussie Kyle Anderson the world ranked 49th player in the current PDC order of merit in a high class game both players averaging over 90 and not a single leg going over 17 darts.
