Ripley Elite Darts Singles League

55 players will contest in two divisions for the new Ripley Elite Darts Singles League summer season 2015
28 players will contest the premier division with the current winter champion Daz Brown and last year’s defending summer league champion Paul Baker, Dave Allcock, Daz Sullivan and Gary Fenn all amongst the favourites to do well.

One premier league player whose names stands out is Australia’s original Kyle Anderson who is currently ranked number 47 in the world on the current PDC rankings, the recent world record breaking (134.9 three dart average) likeable lad who the redsl folk have already took under their wings is currently living in Nottingham and will be the man to watch.

Chris Hill returns for the summer after doing well in last year’s summer division one and the talented marksmen will also be a name to watch out for. The five promoted players will all quietly fancy their chances with Ady Asprey, Keith Cooper, Ant Pearce, Andy Marriott and former county player Mick Chapman, all more than capable of upsetting the premier division’s finest.

An Influx of new players and returning players means none of the bottom five get relegated and the fancied players for the Sleeping Beauty Beds division one title include ex county ‘A’ player Martyn Wood returns after a four year break from the game, current Derbyshire player Lee Stanley who finished third in division one last summer even after breaking his wrist with four matches to play and playing the last four throwing with his left hand Duncan Rhodes from Matlock returns after the winter season rest and will be amongst the fancied players. Simon Baker, Mark Whitelam and Jack Daykin all narrowly missed out on promotion and must all fancy doing well this season.

Other new players to the league are Dean Lawrence, a talented player from the local area who has not played competitive darts for over ten years following an horrendous accident which saw him fall from a ladder breaking his right leg to places. Ashbourne player Dan Ford has Super League experience so does the returning Sutton lad Paul Hodges who has finished runner up in division one a couple of seasons ago . Belpers Dave Harrison, Ian Clarke and Dave Allen all join redsl for the first time. Other players making a comeback include Tony Palfreyman, Johny Clarke, John Bush, Martin Lomas, Mike Ivekich, Mike Robinson and Paul Croson. A great 22 weeks in prospect with records in both divisions expected to be broken.
